So Jalen is playing bad and now is lashing out at Twitter dudes and Rockets media members? They aren't your problem little man. Typical deflection. He's in the blame stage right now. It's the media. It's Udoka's pace. Pretty soon it'll be Sengun. Since I know you're in here Jackson, Jalen isn't his own worst critic. That's the thing. He thinks everything else is the problem. Just like KPj did before him.
You know, KPJ never lashed out at people on Twitter or media members; only DJs, coaches, and allegedly his fiancee. I thought this was an interesting point to highlight.
When you have multiple members of the media within the team reporting that Jalen is blaming everyone else but him then you know this guy is hopeless. Reminds me of Marvin Bagley, had all the tools to succeed but blamed everyone else for his lack of success and look where he is now. These kind of players that don't hold themselves accountable always ends up as a bust and never improves.
That is the fifth direct corroboration of what Roosh reported that I have seen. They all said they have seen the screenshots of the conversation. They all also say it is much worse than is being reported. All of these people are laying their own reputations on the line by saying they have seen the DM's.
Jalen is obviously young and immature. I think we forget sometimes because we've all watched him for a while, but the only thing he really has is his athletic ability because he's not a smart or a mature player. Yet. I think he will get there, years from now, and probably playing for someone else. I think his run here is probably just about over. Udoka isn't going to stand for his inconsistency, and Jalen isn't mature enough yet to fix it.
Fair assessment of the situation the swings between high level play and looking completely lost on the court are bizarre. His poor play has definitely been happening more often than the good recently and he's suffered the consequences losing minutes and getting benched. Ime will certainly take him out of the starting lineup if it continues and it's possible he already made the decision.
I suspect he may end up overseas for a while and later come back and be a productive player in his later 20's.
It could go that way, the question I keep asking myself, lets say Ime throws the same starters out there after the ASB. One would suppose that Ime wants to see more . Hasnt completely made up his mind on what he wants to do and when. But the question is, what does he need to see more of? We have played 54 games. The sample isnt small. The same patterns reoccur again and again. So what does giving Jalen a few more games amount to? Say he has 4 good games in a row followed by a real bad one, what does that tell us? Say he has 4 bad ones and 1 good one in his next 5, what does that tell us? To me, neither scenario tells us much of anything. The two together is what has been happening all season. More of the more bad one in fact. I just don't see a reason to delay change unless you feel no changes are needed. Does anyone feel like Ime thinks no changes are needed? Personally, my gut along with some rumors tells me he does want to change something. In addition, it wouldn't hurt to show the team he means what he says in regard to playing time and earning the privilege. So again, why delay making a change you want to make? The answer is, you shouldn't.
Well there is definitely sunk cost with Jalen so it may be pressure from the FO and something has changed this season because his play has never been this bad. He's put up solid lines but hasn't to my recall had a single game where he's gone off and looked like a #2 pick. And of course we don't know what Ime is seeing at practice etc. Cam might not be ready for reasons we haven't considered.
I agree They have more than enough data at this point to justify a move. If he goes to the bench and comes in and lights up the scoreboard on a regular basis then they can either know they found his niche or they can try him again as a starter for a while. Personally I think he will continue to stink it up and move farther down the bench. I truly hope I am wrong.
Some have mentioned Amen making his way into the starting unit. But we need outside shooting, bad! And Amen is worse than Jalen on the perimeter, so that makes no sense to me. Only Ime's opinion matter where it comes to Cam's readiness. But it is possible that whatever change Ime wants to employ may not have full support in the FO. Not sure if anyone here knows what the climate is like between the coaches and the FO.
We desperately need shooting and Cam is the only one who can fill that role imo i'd be really surprised if Amen got the nod over him if JG heads to the bench, but I'm just a fan and could be missing something important.
Here is the problem no player is going to want to go to the bench in a contract year.......there are millions at stake here....and Jalen may view this as Ime messing with his money. DD
Media members? These are random twitter nobodies. Jalen's people should have him just get off of social media entirely, it clearly messes with his head and is a distraction. "Fans" on twitter that are there just to troll and create clickbait are toxic for everyone involved.
