What I have said for years.

I would greatly increase the taxes on handguns to cover the societal cost.

I would also require permits each year for each and every handgun owned.

I would require up to date insurance for each handgun owned.

That would provide funding to the government to decrease gun violence, it would also provide revenue for those that have been victims of hand gun violence, and third the requirement that the guns be accounted for every 12 months, that permits are purchased every 12 months and that active insurance be mandatory would force hand gun owners to be extremely responsible.

If you do not want to pay the cost and do the type of Maintenace to have a deadly weapon - then you can turn it over to the police force, who will melt it down after it is accounted for. Also - don't think about just giving it to someone else, because if a handgun has not been properly stored, and is stolen, then the owner has to deal with possible civil and criminal consequences.

Handguns are not a joke. Tens of thousands of Americans, many of them very young, die from their use every year.

Pretty sure these kids obtained the guns illegally
    And illegal guns are unmarked

The mentality of the teenagers is what troubles me
They were able to obtain illegal guns and were easily triggered to use them against each other
    During a large gathering
They didn’t care if they killed other people

    where are their parents? @basso

also the border issue is real
    @ROXRAN
    the migrant thugs got guns
Pretty sure they didn’t buy those guns in America

taxes won’t deter this kid below, it only gives them shelter and food

Why can’t they at least tell us their names ?
Don’t the kids who got shot and the woman who died deserve better from the media ?

Of course, they obtained the guns illegally - and no, a lot of guns obtained illegally are marked.

Good luck changing teenagers - there have been attempts for thousands of years, something about their frontal cortex not being fully developed.

No - teenagers do not make good choices, which is why we should be concerned about them getting firearms and killing people.

Most of the guns South of the border came from the United States.

It is crazy - it is almost like having 400 million handguns in circulation leads to bad things.

Yea it’s weird how parents are important. Someone needs to tell BLM that extended families and “villages” are not ideal replacement options …
It’s not a guarantee that parents can prevent kids from choosing the thug life but it seems to be lack of parenting guidance is apparent in almost every example of bad behavior

Because the laws are different in Wisonsin and Missouri. In Wisonsin you are considered an adult, for criminal purposes, at age 17. In Missouri it is 18. Keep it up with your racist bullshit. Don't you have some trans people to abuse?
