I honestly don't remember a good commissioner. I had hope for a few at the start, but they all turn to the dark side after a bit.
The problem is they work for the owners and do what the owners direct. Owners have a very narrow ( many ignorant) and agenda driven idea of that direction. MOST owners are business men and have investors they need to keep happy ($$$$) so winning and even the best policies for all parties and the league itself are secondary at best.
I know there are 1000 reasons; but, I really don't get the protracted signing situation. Spring training has started. Get a job already people!
Tagliabue was the last Commish that had the game 1st at heart. God'ell's been the worst commish for the game, but he's made the owners a lot of money due to the FF crowd/Gamblers. Stern selling out to China was also terrible. But it made the owners a lot of money, as well as his rigging of games. Same goes for God'ell with the rigging of games. Did you know that in the Chiefs three SB wins not a single holding call has been made against the Chiefs?
Obviously rigging by the crust is not supposed be noticed by the peons who are supposed to just believe whatever the overseers tell us. It has invaded ALL segments. Crying in baseball? Just shut up and give me the odds... Whats the best parlay?
Obviously the NFL desperately wants the coastal metropolis that is Kansas City to repeatedly win the biggest game. Because, maybe, perhaps, a pop star will hook up with one of their players after the first few championships. You realize how silly these conspiracy theories sound, right?
Sure man. No doubt the world conspired five years ago to life a Missouri team that no one cares about to multiple titles. I will take your highly experienced opinion for how ignorance feels.
It's no longer about the fan bases or markets. It's about the gambling lines now. You're slow. Corruption works in the shadows.
You pointed out speculation. Don't confuse the two. KC won. That is a fact. The implication that the NFL did not want this is speculation.
