My understanding is that the Kurdish are very pro American and are westernized. The Shia are very pro-Iran and many of their militia are proxies for Iran. The Sunni are mixed with some pro-American out of fear of the Shia while some are are anti-American and sympathetic to groups ISIS.

There is also a difference between the big cities and rural areas and based on the age of the people. Those under 25 are far more Westernized or at least progressive. Iran is very clearly trying to indoctrinate, especially men and the US seems oblivious to the degree of influence Iran has in Iraq. It is approaching a crossroads where Iraq will end up a secular and progressive country or it will turn into Iran. US influence will play a big part in the outcome - but the problem again is that the situation in Israel, relations with Iran and Saudi Arabia and Lebanon all play a part.

The IDF certainly FOUND Hamas terrorists there at the hospital however as I pointed out to NO ONE’s surprise - at this point I would love to see another hostage rescue in which the IDF had to go thru 75 terrorists in fierce fighting to rescue 2 in Rafah recently but it may be hostages are now all located in tunnel areas , such a sad situation for the innocent Israeli hostages ps I’m sure the (Hamas run) Gaza ministry of health will chalk the 75 deaths as simply “innocent civilians” killed resisting the rescue operation of the two Israeli hostages rescued ps - btw prior released November hostages indicated they were kept at Nasser hospital. Part of Hamas playbook is to use hospitals as a cover and play on your emotions when the onion is peeled…There was “hope” to either find hostages alive or dead and there was almost “assurance” of finding multiple Hamas terrorist actors
