Republicans block attempt to add rape, incest exemptions to Missouri’s abortion ban

State Sen. Greg Razer, a Kansas City Democrat, asked if his Republican colleagues were advocating for a 9-year-old girl who is raped to be forced to give birth.

“What they’re arguing is intellectually indefensible,” he said. “It makes no sense. And it’s morally indefensible.

”While rape would be “mentally taxing” for anyone, said Republican state Sen. Sandy Crawford, it doesn’t justify an abortion.

Mentally taxing? That's how you would describe a child's feelings after being raped?

“God is perfect,” she said. “God does not make mistakes. And for some reason he allows that to happen. Bad things happen.”

Wow! Would she tell that to her child if her daddy or uncle raped her and she got pregnant?

LOL... so this is the highpoint of "months of hard work" the maga house has been wasting time on. Not border security. Not inflation. Not the economy. Not infrastructure. Not anything that faces the American people. But trumpsters mtg, boobert, and comrade speaker will be on fox news doing victory dances.

Meanwhile. Mayorkas shows up to work today, tomorrow, and the next. Continuing his work for the American people. Fully knowing that the Senate will shoot down this ridiculous one-party impeachment. Four republican house members voted against this knowing there was nothing that rose to the level that called for impeachment. This sets a precedence that the other party will go cabinet members for policy differences. Thanks maga.

The press release summarizes the findings of that report: NEW REPORT ON REPLACEMENT MIGRATION ISSUED BY UN POPULATION DIVISION | UN Press.

What I think is interesting about Shriver citing it is that it says the US would need some immigration to prevent its population from aging and shrinking, but not as much as we were projected to get. IOW, the report wasn't advocating that the US increase its immigration. The report isn't a plan to do anything to the US anyway, but it isn't even projecting the US to have a population problem. Pretty ridiculous to make a conspiracy theory about that report - but then I guess that's the nature of conspiracy theories.

    https://apnews.com/article/missouri...eedom-caucus-81870973cd083305f719cec5cd65761c

"Earlier this week, Senate Republican leaders stripped four Freedom Caucus members of their committee chairmanships and prime parking spots.

On Thursday, Senate Majority Leader Cindy O’Laughlin told reporters at an annual Missouri Press Association event that she “absolutely would” like to expel from the chamber state Sen. Bill Eigel, an outspoken member of the Freedom Caucus who is running for governor. But she acknowledged that was unlikely, because it would require a two-thirds vote and the support of some minority party Democrats."

The Freedom Caucus is a bunch of far right nutjobs who bow to Trump. Many of them helped incite the insurrection trying to insert their psychopathic idol back in power. They're a shady corrupt bunch of lying propaganda spreading nutjobs and despicables with MTG, Boebert, Biggs, and Matt Gaetz as members. They're a toxic breed indeed.

The maga house worked so hard to impeach Mayorkas that they needed a few weeks off... your tax dollars.

Absolute surprise to no one. The less formally educated you are the more likely to vote Republican.

I wish I were shocked by this, but this is the reality.............the maga extreme are so far down the rabbit hole, the majority wont find there way back to sanity...................if trump were to lose in Nov, then go to court and lose there and be sent to prison (or house arrest) the maga loyal would say the election was stolen AGAIN and that Biden was behind getting trump convicted and everyone is out to get there messiah.........there his ride or die

I'll add in those who live or hang out at some compound where shooting and survival skills are their bible, guns are their babies, and conspiracy theories are shared around the campfire. I'd also add in those stocking up on their ammo and rations in their underground shelter, because they are paranoid as hell about the world coming to an end.
