Jalen Green is like in the 80th percentile in pnr defense. You talk out of your ass. He was a solid good defender tonight.

This is the one night I thought Ime was harsh on Green for no reason. He deserved to get benched plenty of times before but not tonight.

 

Yep, this team did improve. It would be great if they were better, of course, it would be great if Jalen looked like young Kobe and Sengun looked like mini Jokic, and Bari was out there looking LMA or something but that's not what's happening.

It's puzzling seeing people act like this team didn't improve at all because they didn't exceed their expectations.

Rockets win 9 more games and that's fine with me. It sets the bar higher for next season and next season they should be better.

I do think they should consider trading some of the core for an all-star player but that's for a CLEAR all-star player. If one isn't available then its better to hold on to them and hope they start blooming at the time players usually do, at around 24-26 years of age.

I'm really not for trading guys just to be a mediocre team

Ime said he's going to re-evaluate the starting lineup to get us off to better starts after the all-star break

 

"he also ran the team like a headless chicken" spot on. Was I the only one screaming at the TV about how slow Holiday was bringing the ball up with absolutely no sense of urgency down the stretch.

 

Fred will hopefully be back, but if that's all he meant, why make a point of it?

I would feel a lot better about that kind of trade if Lauri was a couple years younger. Still, all of our "core" players (not including FVV and Dillon who seem like temporary stopgaps to me) would be ages 20-27. Not too huge of an age gap.
