I will concede the nut job point. do we know this shooting involved an AR-15? also, could you explain MO's current gun laws? it's been nearly 50 years since I lived there, but you seem up to date.
a little surprised this doesn’t happen even more often than it already does What’s stopping anyone from waltzing into HEB during peak hours and blasting at everybody? What’s stopping somebody from walking through a gym’s main entrance and letting off 100 shots? Not like most people know pay attention to where the gym emergency exits are parade was full of cops with safety measures in place and this still happened
full disclosure: I have multiple close friends, and even closer relatives, who were present at Union Station today. everyone is fine, and everyone is focused on understanding what happened. no one has all the facts, and no one is pushing an agenda.
I was speaking in general about AR-15's. Most Republicans brandish them like trophies. I don't get their laws. Some say age requirements and some don't. Back in 2016, the Missouri General Assembly reversed a state law to allow open carry, meaning conceal carry permits are no longer needed to possess a gun. While federal law has an age requirement to buy a firearm, Missouri doesn’t. Back in 2021, lawmakers approved the “Second Amendment Preservation Act,” better known as SAPA, prohibiting police officers from enforcing federal gun laws and if they do, they could be fined up to $50,000. What they really mean is if a kid is just walking down the street carrying that gun, and you don’t know how he got it, the police can’t do anything about it. https://fox2now.com/news/missouri/s...-for-state-gun-laws-to-reflect-federal-rules/ https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/live-blog/rcna138881#amp_tf=From %1$s&aoh=17079495433592&referrer=https://www.google.com
It happens fast. It does happen anywhere now. We're our own domestic terrorists and our representatives allow it. Wow, that is ****ed up. Why am I living here again?
Last week at an NRA convention in Pennsylvania Trump bragged..... “During my four years, nothing happened!” he bellowed. “And there was great pressure on me having to do with guns. We did nothing. We didn’t yield. And once you yield a little bit, that’s just the beginning. That’s [when] the avalanche begins.”
1 dead, 21 wounded. At least 11 of them are children. 3 arrested. Mass shooting at a Super Bowl parade with about 1M in attendance. How precisely American. Tons of police present for the event. Will it put a stop to "the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun" idea?
Do you? All I know is they have loose gun laws. I have no idea if the shooters had legal possession of guns like the mental case did at Lakewood Church.
from the NYT: It was unclear what had caused the shooting and who was responsible. Three people had been detained, the Kansas City police chief said at a news conference, adding that investigators had not identified a motive. it would be greatly appreciated it you could please provide more context if you have it.
Hey buddy - just want to say it's mostly Republicans such as yourself who have created the commercial-legal-cultural regime of One Nation, Under Gun that makes this type of abnegation a regular occurrence. We have the receipts, you caught the car etc. Sad. Sick. Tragic. T&P as usual
