I don't think they need to take it up. I think the claim is so obviously frivolous that it's beneath the dignity of the court to entertain it when they don't have to.

It is funny though that no matter which way they go, someone or other will seize on it as evidence of a conspiracy.

This. Accordingly, IMO, if SCOTUS grants review, it’s a bad bad sign that the delay game is on.

    The dam has been breached.

Both parties have learned that the American people will tolerate a high level of corruption from a President - and that the impeachment process, if handled properly just muddies the water enough to justify people voting for the party they want, regardless of ethics. What would an indictment do to the parties? Nothing, but you can use it to keep certain qualified people out of running for office.

That can change but it will take a long time. I am sure Biden will be indicted somewhere over something.

I keep hoping that there will be a swing towards decency and honesty but it isn't happening.

We get the criminal grifter and the geriatric life long politician that has some very "interesting" connections and his son that is a crook.

    Vince isn't stupid.

He has figured out that 40% of the USA is stupid and will believe anything that supports their political bent.

This is funny now to a lot of high ranking Republicans - but it shouldn't be, this isn't limited to Republican voters .... there will be a Democrat candidate that will do something similar to Trump, and a lot of liberals and non political types will think it is the gospel or overlook it...... and they will not find it humorous when it is a socioecomic war that they will LOSE because of numbers.

Want to bring about socialism? This is the kind of **** that causes socialism.

hahahahahahahaha, I can only imagine your glee to see a single article or tweet suggesting SCOTUS should side with Trump on immunity. The speed at which you posted it here is Olympian and should be applauded. The weak legal analysis and authorship by a federalist society “lawyer” … no matter. What matters is that it is posted here so that The General Crixtus can tighten his cilice, gaze upon lord Trump and find ecstasy.

Can Obama be tried for murdering an American citizen with a drone strike?

Can Biden be tried for facilitating the border invasion?

Once you open this box, it can't be closed.

We already have a process for prosecuting presidential actions. Namely, impeachment and conviction. Not pencil-neck district attorneys who got stuffed in a locker as a kid and are now high on their own power.

SCOTUS knows all of this very well.

Ima go out and a limb and guess you have first hand experience on that one. Just the kind of person who would spew nonstop propaganda here and then whine like a b**** when it doesn't go his way. You are the prototypical Trump voting sheeple...

inciting an insurrection does not qualify as a "presidential action".

trumpers are arguing that the president has total power to do whatever they want...once you open that box you can have sleepy joe ordering a missile strike on mara-lago and taking out trump and his entire family. if the president is above the law as trumpers want to now claim that means that he can legally do that and not be prosecuted for it.

There is almost a 0% chance that the SCOTUS will review the lower court decision. This is due to the lack of judicial errors.

There have been some arguments that the SCOTUS will review anyway since it will be a landmark decision ... but the SCOTUS has already waved through a lower court decision on civil immunity.

BTW the argument you are making is a straight lift from meritless R talking points.

True story. When Dementia Don got impeached for the last time, his lawyers made the argument that impeachment was not necessary since Citizen Dementia Don could now be prosecuted by the DoJ like every other J6 defendant citizen. His new set of lawyers have flipped the script.

I'd be fine with either of those example prosecutions. Because I think they would fail in court. They'd probably fail at the grand jury. But, I'm happy for a DA to try. Pandora's box has always been open, I don't want to close it, and it's never been a problem.

Trump puts this on Truth Social. Innocent my ass.
An innocent man "cough cough" desperately trying to to delay trials for all his crimes and seek immunity from prosecution for all of his felonies.

Someone should remind Trump we put the right to a speedy trial in the Constitution to spare innocent men like him from being stuck in legal limbo for years on end. He should be eager to clear his name. Especially so it doesn't cast a pall over his election campaign!

I would hope that scotus can somehow abandon their partisan bent and trump defending positions enough to see that trump's criminal assault on American democracy and rule of law are different than partisan differences of position against a US President in the fulfillment of his/her duties as President.

The rest is you hoping to defend trump. Including the ridiculous "that's what impeachment is for" since previous trump defense was ""that's what the courts of law are for". You can't have it both ways.
