For those here who think the Rockets should trade Jalen Green, what does the offer have to be from a low ball perspective in order to justify just keeping him because the offers are so bad?

Something I’ve been wondering lately. If the Rockets this Summer only get offers of like filler salary and 2 meh first round picks, do you still do the trade?

So basically, yeah, what this sounds like to me is, they're not happy with where he is right now but they still believe his potential high-end outcomes mesh well with the roster.

What irritates me is--no mention of his poor shot selection, only hinting at his bad shooting by mentioning his efficiency. Defense is not even Jalen's worst problem anymore, he has not only failed to show signs of progress but has actually seriously regressed as a jump shooter, but still keeps chucking 'em up like he can make them in fairly tight windows.

I firmly believe at this point the organization needs to get him to at least cut his 3P attempts in half and that shot selection actually needs to be a bigger priority than defense. We have enough defenders to cover for him now on that end but our offense can't suffer his constant low-percentage 3P attempts--we already struggle horribly to score consistently, and we can't have guys wasting possessions like Jalen has been.

You’re not gonna get stone to devalue his asset in a presser. They may have thoughts about Green’s place on this team but they still have to keep his perceived value high. Not until contract talks will we hear about how shitty a 3 point shooter and finisher through contact Jalen is.

There will be no Jalen move that won’t take into account his next contract. Jalen would be fine here but at a closer number to Brooks than to Fred

Probably not. I'd just rather give Cam and the other young guys more of his minutes, and give them more opportunity to improve on their game. Maybe we'll draft Reid Sheppard this year, or some other promising guard. I'd just wait til mid season next year to see if others players are consistently shooting better than Jalen. Decide then if we cut our losses and time spent on him to trade for a better player for the future, instead of offering him a new contract.

Thank god no one else on the roster replicates one good game with one awful game.

Jalen sees his improvement inside the 3 point line: aight I'ma jack up 6 threes even though I haven't hit one yet.

Anyone think that maybe he has gained weight too quickly which hasn’t allowed his body to have shooting muscle memory?

wishful thinking but I really hope this is the case and next year he comes out way more efficient.

I love the title, they made this to be more tongue in cheek in a foreign language.

He is playing more like a point guard so it took him, what? Mere 1.5 games to adjust after FVV is injured. He has been great other than a few unforced turnovers, playing aggressive and mostly unselfish at the same time. But-clenching rebounds in high leverage situations, waaaay better decision making. He also looks like having fun while hustling

I didn't get to see the game, so I don't know how his overall game was but 4-15 and 0-6 from deep? He's having too many of these games. Has got to learn that if his shot isn't falling, contribute in other ways. Get others involved. Play D. Drive to the hole! Be aggressive!!! Again, I didn't watch the game, maybe he did.

Just DO NOT keep jacking up shots if you're off. Obviously the more he misses the more it gets all up in his head. When he gets his drive game and his mid range going, his confidence soars and he starts hitting more shots. He needs to work from inside out, not the other way around.

    Just my .02

His shoot mechanics is terrible. He better work on that before chucking 6 3s in one half.

It's really more than a few turnovers though. There's a huge difference in Fred's assist/ turnover ratio to Jalen's.

In the 4 games before Fred was out he had 26 assists and 5 turnovers. In the past 4 games since Fred has been out Jalen has had 16 assists and 14 turnovers.

Fred also had 5 blocks and 6 steals to Jalen's 0 blocks and 5 steals.

Yes, looks like Stone lost a lot of weight. Huge bags under his eyes. Might be under pressure.

Rafael Stone is so committed to the bit of his own asset valuation he hands out huge contracts that blow up in his face - he's the Robert DeNiro of his craft.
