I agree with this. Jalen had a great game but dude is acting like its the norm for a 22 year old SG to get a triple dub. Not even the great SGs in the league has gotten it that young.

Ime is in my opinion still a sus coach, I dont get all this hype and if anything he has lost many games for us with his rotations and weird coaching. I dont remember a game where I said "that was great coaching and led us to a win" if anything its been more of "that was horrible coaching and made us lose"

It's a fine line. I'm a big fan of Green obviously but even I don't feel like praising stuff like triple doubles. I never liked it when guys like Westbrook averaged it for a season as if it contributes to winning. Green played a play game last night where he happened to get a triple double. At the same time I do think there is somewhat of a extra scrutiny on Green as in he has the shortest leash with mistakes from Ime but I think that's Ime trying to compensate for the complete opposite lack of accountability in his first two seasons.

Well he talked about Green should be focusing on his all around game in the off season and when he actually does he still making some petty comments about it. Like bruh just say he had a game and like Mathloom said take it with them one-on-one instead of talking bout it to media. Like he trying to deflect all the attention from his coaching all the time. Its always someone elses fault etc

Yeah I get you but getting this roster to become the 6th best defense in the league is something I don’t think many coaches can do. Have to give him an incredible amount of credit for training and preparation there but his in game skills are still up for debate.

I really thought the shooting would be a lot better with Ben Sullivan on the staff, and I’m not just talking about Jalen, but has ANYONE improved their shooting on our team?

Jabari and Tari have significantly improved. Not sure if it's Sullivan or just them feeling more comfortable in their second season.

A lot of people improved their shooting including Jabari Smith, Dillon Brooks, Cam Whitmore, Tari.

The problem is you need constant drills and rework to make your shot improvement permanent otherwise you regress back. We can see Jabari and Whitmore work hard on their shot that's why it's much improved from last season.

I dunno how Brooks and Smith work on their game but now they are regressing horribly. Tari got injured and that kinda ****ed up his development.

The main positives about JG that I found is his high bball IQ and his positive attitude. He makes the right play most of the time and we can see he doesn't mind doing the dirty work like getting rebs or drawing contact. He is also very coachable that's why despite sucking he is a fav of Udoka.

The bad thing I hate the most about JG is the lack of tangible results of his supposed "Mamba Mentality". Being a Mamba isn't about just being confident on the court, it's about working your ass off the court so you can be the Mamba on the court. People were comparing him to Kobe and so far he hasn't come close at least just in terms of skillet. Kobe wasn't the best st anything but because of his work ethic he can do pretty much anything at a high level, he was very complete as a player.

Jalen's supposed work ethic in addition to his athleticism is the reason he went 2nd but 3 yrs in we are still seeing signs of skill and strength issue. Like why are his handles and shooting still so bad? Why rookie Cam looks twice his size?

First of all I haven't seen much improvement in strength and muscle mass so he hasn't been hitting the gym much. Secondly his ball handling he keeps losing the ball on drives or has it poked away so his handles need tightening. And then his shot is busted AF so he needs rework there as well. I just wonder if he really works on his bag cuz I haven't seen much improvement in 3 yrs in any of these aspects. You can argue he has improved in terms of court vision and that's cool but that also comes with natural experience and just mental growth as he ages. Right now it looks like he just coasting on his athleticism and talent, that's why his performance night to night is all over the place.

At age 21 the book is far from close and maybe he can still be a great player, but I think he really needs to put serious effort on tightening his handles and get multiple shot doctors to fix his shot if he wants a decent contract in 2 yrs. Like right now I think mid-level is all he is worth, paying more than 10M a year for an sg shooting 31% from is not gonna fly.

On paper, Jalen Green is one of the least efficient scorers in the entire league and one of the worst overall players on the Rockets.

We have a GM that’s not good with people or words. And that would be okay if we could point to other professional attributes or examples of good judgement. But it’s hard to.
