You can't "eliminate" Hamas - Hamas is an idea in as much its anything else but it's also people in various levels of affiliation - "eliminating Hamas" is, in my opinion, a meaningless statement. Though I'm happy to hear what it means to you. Even if you kill every card carrying member of Hamas - the ideas that motivate Hamas and support its existence aren't going away.
That's like saying you cannot "eliminate" Nazism to the allies in 1944. Yes, you can. Horrible ideas are going to continue to exist in some people's heads. That's not a reason to not neutralize those who are actively trying to murder you based on these horrible ideas.
