cant believe 49ers let Mahomes checkdown / scramble over and over on last drive..... dont think he threw it more than 5 yards other than that 1 Kelce crossing route.... but if you get the ball before KC in overtime you got to play it like you have 4 downs cause thats exactly what they going to do when they get the ball
It was dumb to get the ball first. It was dumb to not go for a touchdown when they were down there. Bosa was dumb for biting on that Pacheco fake on 4th as if they were going to lay the season in the hands of Pacheco instead of Mahomes. The NFL post season overtime rules are also a bit weird. If it's no longer first team scores a TD wins, why are there 15 minutes quarters at all? If we start a second quarter up then why not finish out the second quarter? Why not ha e the game end at the end of the first 15 minutes regardless of what has happened of one team is leading. So strange. Glad Romo finally jumped in and said something because I am sure it dawned on them that it wasn't all going to come together and make sense to anyone.
Haha. I bet they would be. That's a great way to go about it if you can scam someone into falling for it. Use a first rounder....get 80% of the contracts use out of him then trade for a first rounder. You'd end up with an endless amount of first rounders after you repeat that for four or five years.
The gifted td (fumble near goal line) ultimately gift wrapped the game to KC. You absolutely cannot give up a free td in a game like that.
Just throwing out some names as possible trade targets... guys with a year left that teams may prefer draft assets over paying like the Dolphins flipping Minkah to the Steelers a couple years ago: Diontae Johnson WR Budda Baker S Jaycee Horn CB Asante Samuel Jr CB Jaelan Phillips DE AJ Terrell CB No idea about fit, or cost in draft capital. If we can move out of first and pick up extra picks to spend on vets I wouldn't mind... Say #23 for #40 and #67 from Washington. That leaves us with 40, 59, 67, and 86. Draft 3 starters, trade one of them and 123 for a starting corner like Horn or Terrell... Maybe takes 3 of those picks to get 2 proven guys. I suspect a player like Terrell could go for more than a mid-2. But just saying the idea more than the specific player. If they can walk away with 2 quality starters from the draft, 2 via trade, and 1 via free agency while keeping our own that we want to I think it's a successful offseason.
I didn't mean literally, geez, but did you watch the Super Bowl, he was a game wrecker. He made multiple plays that stopped drives. He is the best defensive player on the market and fills a position of need for us. We have cap space, he needs to be our top priority and we should break the bank for him.
With only one year left, no way we would trade a first rounder for any of them. More like a 3rd. Budda Baker would be an absolute get.
