Sengun has been playing worse and it isn't just one game. But he's a young player and development is not linear. I think Mathloom brought up great points about how running the FVV/Sengun oriented offense has it's limitations... and what you're seeing is the outcome of teams having 50+ games of footage to gameplan against Sengun as the 1/2nd option. I still think choosing to have Sengun as a score-first, pass second player will always limit his true potential. Maybe it's tiring him out as well to contribute less on the defensive end. Having Tari out for so long is really hurting us in a lot of ways.
Looks like he has a back injury. His last game was his worst of the season. Hard to play well when your back is killing you.
Alpi strikes me as the player who would just play through pain until it's really bad. And yet we had people questioning his heart.
Without Alpe, it became a 100% Jalen take the rebound downhill Westbrick type of basketball, and he is even shooting those numbers..... Oh boy. Carbon copy.....he is not as strong as WB.
It's going to get really ugly if Alpi and FVV have to sit out for a long time. But I also still believe that we can repeat some of that early season success if they come back well rested and at full strength.
That's what I thought when I watched the highlights. The scary thing is, JG will probably be very happy with this performance and seek to repeat it on every occasion. Baby Westbrook will replace Baby Jokic. (Check out Ime's praises about "the right way".) Trading Alpi will be to the benefit of both parties. Just get rid of the big boy and give the keys to the Black Mumble.
The Rockets might just keep both around for as long as they can and when Stone finally does trade Ja Sean Tate .... they can get new players in.
Not sure about both parties. Looking at the other moves they will probably trade him to a contender for a washed up role player and two second round picks in 2036.
Where do all these Sengün trade ideas come from.........Green is not winning with this type of game..... At least not winning enough to give that a thought. Westbrook as 4th option was more bearable to be honest.
Alperen should not play with pain. It hurts him in the long run.We are not winning mode no need to take this risk.
I cannot stand that we uad multiple offensive possessions where only 1 player touched the ball and shot a contested shot. And often that was not on a fast break. Ime should bench anyone doing that.
Alpi should sit it out until after the ASG break. Last couple weeks, and particularly since he injured himself against Bron, show he is not effective with an injured back.
I was wondering when the trade Alpi posts would start trickling in from his die hards. Really is Lin all over again,
I guess his back was the reason why he was missing bunnies slacking on defense. He should sit out a week or two.
Yes Sengun has played like trash lately and all I read is excuses. Mind you his fans want EVERYBODY traded after one bad game injured or not. Yet it's poor Sengun now lol.
