This is the first really bad game Alpi has had this year. He is 21, the sky is not falling. It is okay for a 21 year old to have an off game every once in a while. At least he is not like our other 21 year old who has played like dog **** in about 95% of the games. He will bounce back just fine.
Yep. I noticed they were working on him on the bench yesterday. He's obviously not completely healthy right now. That would explain a lot. Hmm. Maybe they should have gotten him some help at the trade deadline!
His effort on D has been putrid, he is getting beat by journeyman centers because he is relaxing on D - if Alpi wants to be his best self he has got to do better on both ends....one thing a player can control is effort and frankly his defensive effort has been crap. No excuses - he has to do better on D..... DD
Silas was a dumbass. Silas will go down as all-time worst winning percentage in NBA history for HC and he's keeping that mark up as an Asst Coach in DET.
Well he was last night....and has been recently at least on D.... He even admits that he hasn't really focused on D, well if he wants to be a team leader, he has to produce on both ends.....if he is what some of us hope he is, he needs to DEMAND more of himself and his teammates.... DD
Who’s the backup center? I mean who will start? 50 year old Jeff Green? Jock Landale? More Jae’Sean Tate? Spoiler
Look at my posting above where Alpi was photographed in yesterday's game with some huge ice packs wrapped around his back. We know he injured his back in that crucial play against LeBron. He probably just played trough injury/pain because he is the only player on the roster without any real backup. It's comical that the FO stillt traded for another injured big.
Well his defense has been **** for a while now......if his back is bothering him....rest him for sure.....and now that OKC has signed Biyombo we have no chance of having a backup Center. Hooray ! DD
Lol at these clowns who can't understand how to interpret basic stats. You can't compare off numbers to evaluate a player, if the defensive rating was 120 when he was out, would he be a better player? No, still the same. If you want to get some meaningful info check what happens only Sengun is replaced from the starting 5: F. VanVleet - D. Brooks - J. Green - A. Sengun - J. Smith Jr. HOU 35 569 113.8 110.4 3.4 (games, minuts, offensive rt, defensive rt, net rating) J. Green - F. VanVleet - D. Brooks - J. Green - J. Smith Jr. HOU 11 20 100.0 124.4 -24.4 F. VanVleet - D. Brooks - J. Landale - J. Green - J. Smith Jr. HOU 3 8 52.6 105.6 -52.9 Still this is not a good comparison, because the backups are not good, and this basically shows how he is doing relative to backups. but at least playing with the same teammates, so the comparison is more meaningful. Also the minutes for the backups are low, for obvious reasons. Sengun has been playing worse and he looks tired, low-energy and limited. But the whole team has been defensively much worse compared to earlier in the season, not just sengun.
Now that the worst defensive player in the league is out for the game, it will be a joy to watch the Rockets play defense and hold the Hawks below 90 points.
