It means that he actually tried looking for a deal and didn't take one by choice. They can spin it as not thinking it was enough to give up his locker room presence or whatever but at least he tried to see what was out there.
Nobody is buying that garbage. He’s a terrible negotiator and worse media manipulator. He’s ok on draft day, so it’s buying him some time.
Green is finally finding himself The core has not been healthy We’ve recently come to discover how good the rookies are And how to integrate them in the rotation Yet we’re only couple of games out Lets wait for the cavalry to come Plus add a possible buyout big And see where we end up by the end of the year and beginning of next We’re more a cohesive unit
He is one of the GMs that people easily find excuses for..........for a weird reason....... He was the culprit of the KPJ drama yet people always credit him for finding Sengün while Witus was the supporter of picking Sengün. KPJ alone shows you that he is a below average talent evaluator and lover of AAU basketball. No other GM loves to negotiate with a former lawyer.
Kpj was an interesting situation. They tried to help the kid. There is definitely no denying his talent. We just held on to the stock too long. There is also a reason why teams hire really good scouts and talent evaluators. Whether he listened to them or not is the bigger issue. I'm still wondering right now if it was a good idea to hold on to Green. Only time will tell.
Former? Part of the GM job was providing Tilman with legal advice. Broke Ferntits knows how to stretch a dollar.
Stone is notorious for sitting on his hands when he should make moves to upgrade the roster Too many times he has sat and done nothing and then the value of our players go to zero and then he salary dumps them. We have the best idea of the limitations of our players, we should have taken advantage of that. Multiple teams were calling about Tate for years, we did nothing and now he is maybe worth a second rounder. Morey would make moves for guys that were relatively unknown and would thrive in Houston. He has lost some of that magic as he has been forced to win now for the last several years, but i think a better more experienced GM or Assistant GM could help us with trades. We should have traded guys like KJ, Garuba, Tyty, jaygup much earlier to get some value out of them. We had no business trading for Oladipo the first time, probably should have tried to sell high on Christian Wood as well. I can not point to a single trade for a player that Stone has clearly won. These types of moves should not look obvious to casual fans, the team litererally feels like it is being run by a Clutchfans member. We have been essentially drafting the guys that we start threads for each summer, there have been no surprises, which is not a good thing. A professional GM should be thinking more in depth than a casual fan. I would not be surprised if the team is logging onto CFs regularly...Patrick.
FACT check: We are NOT 2 games out of the play-offs. We are 2 games out of the play-in. Those are different things
Should have appointed Eli Witus as GM and Stone as Assistant or just Advisor on Contracts n NBA politics..... I think some might agree.
What "talent " on KPJ? He could score on one of the worst teams in the league when playing iso. That's not exactly impressive. Plenty of players can do that
He was always about stat padding. He never cared about the team whatsoever. If you want to be the worst team in the league KPJ is you're man
nice win for Silver & crew's propaganda ... play-ins now synonymous with playoffs. as if the playoffs weren't watered down enough already.
