Could be worse--we could be the Bulls, with the same record we've got, holding onto hope that next year will be the year DeMar and Zach carry us to the promised land at (checks notes)--age 29 and 35
He's over values his assets because he's a lawyer and doesn't know ball. Everyone else sees our players for what they are.
I like the team as it is right now. Of course I’d rather they impose their will resulting in winning more games. I want to see how the core group of youngsters does. Jalen Green, Sengun, Jabari Smith, Whitmore, Thompson, Eason develop into a core unit. Those guys (with one more year of experience) along with Dillon, VanVeleet, Tate, and Adam’s should make for some exciting and winning basketball next season. That is a 10 man deep team of highly talented players.
He said, "Yep. That's good enough... for now." There's a big difference between trying to in this year and trying to make the playoffs. They are absolutely trying to win, they're just unwilling to make what they believe to be short-sighted moves just to get a play-in spot this year. I applaud Stone for not going crazy this year. Even getting a couple of SRPs for Tate might have been regretted when we need a more-than-zero throw-in on a big trade at next year's deadline.
Not having a big deal happen isn’t the worst thing in the world…our young guys can develop some more and even our most controversial player (Jalen) has been playing better recently. However, I certainly hope we can acquire some sort of shooter and/or decent backup big…and as I typed this the trade deadline ended. Guess not
