He can’t shoot and doesn’t do the other stuff well enough to make up for it. He’s not a bad player really, but he’s probably not an NBA level talent. He’ll probably play overseas would be my guess.
So we have to watch Landale for the rest of the year warming the bench and Tate eating minutes when teams wanted him?
I just spoke to a Pistons diehard I know in Detroit. He said Hayes requested a trade a week ago and they couldn't even get a second rounder. Said he has good court vision and is an above average defender but he's just really really really bad on offense. Said he was a net negative for them.
Not at least getting something for Tate is a massive f*ckup. Even one second-rounder at this point, honestly. Absolutely no reason he should play a single minute the rest of the season
all we got today probably after 2pm some insider come out to say the Rockets were very close to acquire (fill in the big name here), as always
Sound like the kind of shooter the Rockets might take a flyer on. Lol. We could use a little more size and toughness out on the wing, but it is a shooter's league these days.
Tyrese Haliburton, Tyrese Maxey and Desmond Bane all went after him. Not to mention other quality guys like Devin Vassell, Immanuel Quickly, Jaden McDaniels, and Jalen Smith who all range from NBA level starters to quality rotation guys. Considering how critical so many here are of Stone when we're loaded with young talent, I think there would be riots outside the Toyota Center if he did that. Especially since that year, they walked away with Hayes, Isaiah Stewart and Siddiq Bey. So they had multiple opportunities at some of the above mentioned guys, and instead 4 years later they only have one of those guys on the roster and it's arguable if he's even a quality back up.
Other teams aren't stupid, they can see your guys playing poorly too. You can't just just trade them early and get a bunch of value. Thabeet was traded 1.5yrs after being drafted #2 and the Griz still had to attach a 1st rd pick to get a past his prime Battier averaging 5 pts/4rebs.
Well. If you’re not going to move Landale, he should at least get some minutes even if it’s just to foul defensively. I like Tate, but they simply can’t continue putting him on seven footers and thinking that’s okay.
