Not sure but they had a change of heart and wanted to get rid of 'soft players' all the sudden in Toppin, Quickley, RJ Barrett....X.com was making fun of that. Now not sure how they view Grimes.....
Ahh ok. Yeah I never thought Barrett was the answer for them as a core player. Toppin is just a dunker. I like Quickly, but with Brunson there now didnt make sense to keep him as a backup.
Does getting two vet shooters for him make a difference? Looks like they have room to backfill some roster spots also. I guess they saw something that made him expendable. Im not a Knicks fan so im just talking from a outsider perspective on this move. Guess we will see how it works for them over the next few months. Maybe they have plans to chase another star player this summer so moving Grimes helps that in some way..
They gave up evan fournier also who fell off the map for whatever reason. He does basically what burc gives you. It's just strange to me. Not sure why they gave up on grimes so fast when he became a Thibs fav and worked to become his starter last year
Fournier had been out of the rotation due to inconsistency. Ah ok. Well maybe that is our answer YOLO..
I doubt Pistons are a great place for a young guy other them giving him more opportunities......it is going away from a winning place. Be aware of what you are wishing for.
Historically, Houston has valued its players highly. For example, there were conversations with the Dallas Mavericks, one of the teams that have been monitoring Jae’Sean Tate’s situation, league sources said, but the Mavericks have only two second-round picks available that were offered. The Rockets, according to those sources, insisted on three. Source: The Athletic Make them pay for Tate..
