Actually, largely yes. Republicans are pushing the narrative of an open border. They literally want them to come because it is the only issue they are winning on nationally. It's gross.
I’m going to keep on reiterating that the president cannot just close the border in their own. Trump himself spoke of a crisis of Caravans coming to the border while President but couldn’t close the Border. Several of his policies to close the border were stopped by the USSC or not funded by Congress.
Apparently, there have been new executive orders in the works for months that he may now use after the bill failed. Reports are that he didn’t want to use them because it would upset progressives, and it’s another short-term bandaid that will likely be challenged in court, likely struck down, and is not very effective.
Any executive orders would like be marginal at best. Even if they are legal like Trump’s wall even if not stopped by the court without finding won’t go far. This issue is just riven by a profound misunderstanding of how Consitution works and revisionist history. I guess that’s pretty much the norm these days though.
People on the board who mentioned that it isn't possible for a President to completely close the border are correct. What is being proposed isn't a complete closure of the border.
Furthermore, whatever Biden proposes as an executive action will challenged (like by members of both parties, but certainly by republicans) and will then face the courts and pretty likely be overturned. Funny how republicans *now* think presidents should create law by executive actions...
First the illegal aliens beat down our NYC cops and give us the 2 middle fingers, now they steal a flag from a Jewish homeowner who lost a relative in the Oct 7th attacks, and then proceeds to beat down the homeowner. Once again, the middle finger is flipped. Hey you wokies in here, please explain to me what’s with middle finger to us? Is it some kind of new illegal aliens gang sign?
Your maga is showing sir.................you know these don't work and are mostly symbolic and probably won't hold up in court, hopefully you already know the law and your just one of those folks who like to spread lies and deflect from what congress should be doing
Interesting... aid for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan now appears to be moving past the 60 vote barrier in the Senate. This is where Democrats were at the beginning before republicans tried to tie it to border security. Its possible some backroom agreement was made on the border, but odd republicans opposed the bipartisan proposal but move forward with this one. Does the House shut this one down? Perhaps republican senators want the maga house to be the bad guys?
Not expecting it to. Nor were the Senate republicans... hence their allowing the maga house to be the bad guys.
I'll repeat it for those in the back... but “former president's comments meant that he really didn't want to see something like that at this time.” He hopes voters get that
