Texas is run by guys like Trump. They scream and yell about a crisis, then cheer in the background behind closed doors that they can blame Biden. If they wanted help, they would accept a deal, but kissing Trump's rear end as his Brown Shirts is more important to them. They only want to do it next year, if Trump wins, so they can give him something to brag about. Until then, they will just waste tax payer dollars bussing migrants around like discarded trash.
They can't do it next year, and everyone in the Senate knows it's as good a deal as it gets. Ofc, next year a potential president shitstain would blame Dem senators for being spiteful in light of today's events while a bunch of riled up podunk texans load their pickups with rifles on route to the nearest border crossing.
CBO: immigrants are good for the economy and beneficial for reducing the debt. So, if you're care about economic growth and debt reduction, being pro-immigrant seems like a natural stance.
And for our next trick, we are going to start confusing illegal immigrants between the legal immigrants and tell the masses its great for the economy! Illegals MAGA!
CBO's "immigrants" refer to both legal and illegal immigrants; undocumented still contributes through work and taxes. In fact, the "unexpected surge" pertains to the increase since 2022, likely driven mainly by migrants.
It’s largely Congress’ fault. They’ve kept the status quo for decades. This was another golden opportunity they passed on, largely because Trump told them to. P.S. The surge due to failing states caused by climate change is going to be magnitudes worse. Unlike today, where you can only intellectually feel the crisis, you will personally feel it.
The overall view of most economists that have studied the issue that yes - illegal immigrants actually ARE good for the economy. Is that actually true when everything is considered? IDK - but that is a strongly held belief with those that studied the issue. Will voters in November view it that way? We will have to wait and see. The border seemed like a disaster issue for the democrats but the handling of the bill by Republicans the last 24 hours has switched that up for now at least.
No, I don't blame any increase of immigrants desperate to escape crime, poverty, seek jobs, and flee corrupt countries on Trump, any more than I do Biden. I blame Trump for feeding his sick racist beliefs into his cult about the brown skin immigrants poisoning the blood of this country, while he encourages and supports right wing domestic MAGA cult terrorists to arm up and fight for him. I blame Trump for the stronghold he has in his MAGA cult GOP politicians in their unwillingness to work to address the problem.
