I know he's a rookie and everything but Amen gets NO RESPECT WHATSOEVER from the refs. It's like anything short of a flagrant foul and they're gonna swallow the whistle.
Alpy played about one good defensive position against Turner today. His defense today was really bad. Jalen with his second best game of the season and it gives me pause to unloading him seeing him with Amen who *cannot* shoot. And that's a good thing because it's his job to get everyone else a shot. And lo and behold Jabari with 20 and Jalen with 30. If Tari was healthy and we didn't have to endure Jaesean Tate minutes this is a W.
Bari really is the only guy that could go 2 for 4 from 3 playing 39 mins. He could go 10/10 first half and somehow finish the game 10/12.
I think we found something at least from this game. Amen finally realizing he can out rebound any guard for a offensive rebound and his calling card could be that.
Agreed, if he was on the trading block before, these last 8 or so games have probably taken him off of it for now. But time is ticking, and he’s turning my 22 very very soon. If he keeps playing like this, I have a feeling he’ll win back many fans. But I also hope his good play will lead to some wins, that’s what we’re really here for
Amen= Amazing Jalen= Great Brooke=Good Jabari=Amazing half, average half Sengun= horrible game Cam= okay (teams are doubling him when he drives now) Holiday= Why are you still here?
I think Jaesean was ok, he even hit a three! But those 20 Aaron Holiday minutes were terrible for me. He was hot for a stretch in the first half, then cooled off and was essentially useless for the rest of the game—getting abused by McConnell, missing Whitmore for a fast break dunk…and his shot deserted him as well. I’m ok with not seeing him play much for the rest of the year, tbh. His ceiling is limited and the players he was in front of have improved drastically
As a Sengun fan, I will be the first to say he’s got a long way to go to be a star. Way too many holes in his game on both offense and defense. On offense, his lack of outside shooting and inability to quick release shoot outside of a hook shot will make him defendable against certain teams or teams that focus on him. He also misses way too many bunnies. On defense, while he has some positives tonight highlighted his negatives brightly. I don’t know if it’s a defensive court awareness issue or part of the game plan or what, but he seems to double at inopportune times. I don’t know if he’s expecting rotation to his guy and it’s not happening but as often as it happens I’m thinking he’s the common denominator. Also he’s overcommiting on guard drives and leaving his guy wide open. Seems to be overthinking it to me. All that said, I think a lot of his issues stem from not being in the best of shape. I’ll say it again, if he wants to take the next step, if I’m him I would hire a personal trainer in the offseason and work on my conditioning in addition to working on a quick release shot.
