Jalen was supposed to be that guy right away. But that's how the league works and the unexpected make progress from age 21 and on.
Best examples are the Thunder who traded for a Shai that averaged 19pts at age 21.
    Then, Denver 2016-2017.

It's a shame some of you can't appreciate the progress Sengun and Jabari continue to make. 22 points at that age going up against guys with 8 years of experiece is awesome work.

Jabari needs more FGs and he'd be having the same type of season Chet is having. Lately, I feel like being shunned from the offense is affecting his overall game.

Losing FVV should change what they wanted to do at the deadline. There's almost certainly no playoffs without him.

I think he's read all. He simply meant that what you are posting is just negative about Sengun in general (almost every your posts).
    So simple.

I'm fine with just developing Amen with FVV out of the picture.

We are struggling mightily to get to the Playoffs, once we get there, the courtship for star players shall commence.....

We shall make the extra effort to recruit.....

So to clarify here, Jokic and Giannis are not franchise players? Or kawhi? Or even Kobe?

No, you don't understand. Only players that fit the narrative that they're pushing count as franchise players. Everyone else is an abberation/coincidence/false example. How could you not get that?

if this team is a .500 team at the end of the season, they will have beaten my expectations by 6-8 games, so I'll be surprised.

i just dont understand why everyone wants to anoint one guy or another 'the franchise player blah blah blah...' - as opposed to letting some sh*t play out and seeing if someone rises to the level through their play...

Dude you are the one who brought up Sacramento and Spurs right? So first they should be points of comparison vs Rox now you are saying it's not worth the discussion? Then why you even bring it up?

OKC is the master class rebuild, if you are going to use it as the barometer then sorry everyone else fails in comparison to them ok? That's like comparing Sengun to Jokic and saying Sengun is so much worse. There's 10 other rebuilding teams you should be looking at. Sorry not every GM is as good as Presti that doesn't mean Stone automatically sucks or if you fire him you will get a GM as good as Presti.

If Spurs only tanked for 1 yr how did they get Josh Primo 12 and Jeremy Sochan at 9? Magic? 20 games? Rox are on pace to win 35-40 games why only 20 for the Spurs?

If you understand the age thing why you even compare Scola, Battier and Kevin Martin from the current roster? Doesn't take a genius to figure out the team full of 21 yr Olds is superior to the the team of 30 yr old if they have identical records.

Your complaints are honestly invalid and unrealistic. I'm not surprised you aren't impressed with the rebuild because according to you just cuz you tanked for 3 yrs you should be a top 8 team already. Only 2 teams have done that which were the KD squad and SGA squad and both were under Presti who is prob the GOAT GM even if he hasn't won a ring yet. Other than that nobody has done or met your ridiculous standards. Some of the stuff you are saying don't even make any sense you are angry cuz Rox have been bad for 3 yrs but Spurs have been collecting lotto picks for 3 yrs, will get a 4rth lotto pick next year but according to you they will beat Rox schedule. Huh???

Lets have a look at OKC with their young core. They are 1 , maybe 2 years ahead because okc had their franchise player for years. Houstons FP in alpi has his breakout this year.

We will end up around .500, and in the west ..means maybe playin. in the east playoffs.

We have to be patient, next year we are a playoff team. Give the team time to develope.

The problem is that we spent two years of the rebuild where we anointed two mediocre guards as the "franchise future", without any accountability or attempts to play serious basketball. So we are just now starting to dig ourselves out of that clusterfck.

I agree that it is too early to proclaim Sengun to be That Guy, and that is because he was underused for two years. If we only go by the 40-50 games this year, he certainly looks the part, but as I said, it is too early... If he was given a fair chance to compete to be the main guy on a serious team, we may have a much better idea by now if he is That Guy or not...

Tari is awesome, there is some chance that he follows the Kawhi trajectory, but who knows. Too early to tell.
Jabari is good, he can become an All-Star, but yeah, I am a bit skeptical as to him getting to the SuperDuperStar level
Amen and Cam are very promising, but way, way too early to make a call.

We need to keep the pressure on the young core, keep asking them to contribute and compete, and things will crystalize. Someone may emerge as the The Guy, or they may all wilt. It's just way too early to make that call less than 50 games in. Again, I wish we didnt waste two years with that Jalen/KPJ garbage ball....

With the trade deadline passing yet again and no horizon to improve the team or its assets, maybe my original projections for the Rockets will hold-- missing the playoffs, 35 or fewer wins, and a hot seat for our GM.

It will be particularly bad if New Jersey makes the play-in and we don't. They are one game out, and so are we. Is the savvy play to overpay Chicago or Atlanta in some trade (3-way or otherwise) so they are more competitive and able to stay in front of NJ? Such a move might help us with the draft to claim a small victory.

I would probably say Udoka talking about us making the playoffs has made alot of the fans eager to be much better than we are. But we dont have the roster or the experience yet to be as good as some make us out to be. If we were in east maybe we could sneak in, but the west is tough. I say we should expect more next season and hope for the best this season tbh

When he came to the Rockets he was Akeem, so that's why I spelled it like that but as we all know later he changed it.

However, I just don't see a player like that on this roster.

I see that a lot too, Jabari being shunned from the offense. A player has to touch the ball.

Sengun is doing good, I just want more on the defensive end.

What are you talking about? JG was anointed cuz he was the 2nd pick. KPJ wasn't anointed anything.

They were tanking for a total of 3 yrs and got good players in Jabari and Amen. Are you saying you'd rather not have those 2?
