Yeah, I think this is the correct viewpoint. I don't think Jalen was calling anyone out, he was just saying playing with more pace could've helped. But it would've only helped so much. The T-Wolves are just a more talented and complete roster. They're not going to let you score a lot of points in transition. In the 3rd quarter there were opportunities to score in transition but Jalen and Sengun were smoking layups.
What is the offense? The only thing this team can do on a consistent basis was spam Sengun PNR -- now that defenses have said "not so fast" the best thing we can come up with is ... MORE SENGUN PNR!!
In todays NBA, no offensive scheme can work without an outside threat. But we also need diversity, I agree. Part of that is the roster construction which is on Stone, not Ime.
I would rather a game full of 1 PPP possessions over a game full of 0.8 PPP possessions so it's not a one point game at the end.
Predictable. At some point the finger was going to be pointed at someone or something else. Yeah, its someone elses fault why you keep getting stripped ad blocked when driving. Its someone elses fault why you cant hit wide open shots. I guarantee if those same shots had gone in you wouldnt hear a peep about the pace not being ideal. Unfortunately not many people can own up to their own failures and its always someone elses fault when the bottom is close to falling out. This is just a part of the process in the life cycle of a bust.
Reggie Bullock was hell bent on playing for Ime during the Lake Charles training camp....so that one was sort of on Ime Udoker. Couple of personnel decisions Ime had his hands in.....
Refresh my memory please - that's not my strong suit but I don't remember a lot of classic James Harden duels where he showed up against the very best and came out on top. I have a longer memory of his teammates showing up to get the W than him.
Not a big Harden guy I take it? https://www.landofbasketball.com/games_between/james_harden_vs_lebron_james.htm https://www.landofbasketball.com/games_between/stephen_curry_vs_james_harden.htm https://www.landofbasketball.com/games_between/kevin_durant_vs_james_harden.htm https://www.landofbasketball.com/games_between/james_harden_vs_kawhi_leonard.htm
Not really. Summing those lines you provided, he has 82 wins to the 91 wins the field walk away with in total and specifically in the playoffs, he has 21 wins to his opponent's 38. I know James Harden has had those big games against stars, but when he often walked with the L, you don't tend to remember those games. I know there are a number of team constructions reasons for that, but for all intensive purposes, Harden had at least some role in that too because of his influence on the front office here in Houston(Dwight, CP, Westbrook, etc). Bottom line is, even if he personally delivered strong stat lines, he has a long history of not coming away with the win and falling short with the game on the line.
Not here for a Harden debate. I just found your statement that you could literally only remember 1 game in his entire tenure in Houston where he out played a better player on a better team for a win to be…crazy.
These guys want to run but yeah its like Ime (?) has told them to slow it down man even alpi runs the floor on fastbreaks trying to find an open man or finish it himself so I dont get this offense at times. Feels like Ime is hella stubborn
Those are not good mid range percentage. Which if the cited attempt numbers is true, where he only attempts two per game; that is actually good shot diet from a range perspective. Going to the rim and 3pt is the normal shot chart for most guards. Unless a wing / forward, back court's 3's are likely center and above the break (instead of corner 3's). Distance isn't the issue (3's and rim), it's more with things like, is the shot closely contested, doubled, is the shooter doing turn around fades.... etcs. And if the shot are good looks, is the person not making them, because he's not good. Relative to our team, Jalen is not the worst shooter, so I don't want to pick on him too much But since he is our SG, and one of our lead shot takers, the offense do depend heavily on it. If Jalen could deliver, it'd solve lot of our woes.
I didnt think there were still people advocating for building around Jalen - just dated threads that keep getting bumped for "told you so" purposes.
