I don't see what he said that was so terrible. Wanted to push the pace rather than play from a structured offense against a set defense. I wouldn't be surprised if Udoka was preaching the same thing.

But DeRozan's midrange game is better than this. It was

    47% in 22-23
    47% in 21-22
    47% in 20-21
    46% in 19-20

You can't just say Jalen has better midrange game when DeRozan is literally known for it.

Jalen was shooting 37% from midrange before his recent 5 game fluke

Demar Derozan shot 47% on 9 midrange attempts a game last year, and 47% on 10 midrange attempts a game the year before that…seems pretty clear he’s just having a down year

Jalen can’t hold his jockstrap from midrange…his or Booker’s

Kyrie Irving shot 50% from midrange last year

u are comparing Jalen Green to guys who are elite shooters or at the very least very proficient from midrange like Derozan

Jalen Green can’t see any of them even with the Hubble Telescope

Jalen Green is a scorer who struggles to score from all 3 levels, but he is certainly better from midrange than he is from 3 so I wouldn’t mind him taking more midrange shots in general

Would you rather a 34% chance from 3 or a 41% chance from 2 to win the game?

Ant is shooting 35 % from midrange this season and taking 7 a game (if he didn’t get the calls at rim that Jalen doesn’t) he would be getting blasted on this forum

ANT is a better 3pt shooter but he also gets to the line 6+ times a game

Amazing Jalen got to the line more last year than this year - his drives are down to 9x a game while someone like Ant drives 13x a game

I’m going by this season stats - and yes I feel like Jalen can be in the 43-46% area if he attempted more of them … since he can’t get to foul line to get in a rhythm

Imagine having a team full of Ferraris and HOU would rather play like they are driving a Prius.

Did James Harden? In all his 8 years in Houston I can only think of that ONE regular season Golden State game where Harden hit the game winning 3 over Draymond and Klay and out dueled a better team. There are a lot of really good players - perennial All Stars and even HOFers(like Harden) who lack a signature moment or even the ability to hang with the other team's best players on the biggest stages. Why does it even matter that Alpi can and Jalen hasn't? Nothing about your post makes any sense except to "rah rah" about Alpi yet again. What's the point of that? I dont think anyone thinks Jalen is better than Alpi at this point so why compare them?

Jalen doesn't own up to why he's a terrible finisher around the basket and bad decision maker. Instead, he says the lack of fastbreak passes is the problem. He still thinks this is AAU

Jalen, just isn't that good. He is a guy that thrives against soft competition a front runner, but backs down when facing better more coordinated teams.

...let me get this straight, you think Ime is going to retaliate against Jalen Green because in a game where the opponent had two 7ft rim protectors(and we chose to play in a slower half court pace), Jalen didn't "own up to why he's a terrible finisher around the basket".

Okay, dude. You can live in that fantasy world.

One of the reasons I like Jalen Green and really want him to succeed is that for the most part, he has always been willing to be self-critical in interviews, this goes back to that pre-draft interview with him looking at his own highlights with that ESPN fella. Even earlier this season he's been very willing to own up to his problems, so I think that in this case he was either repeating something the coaching staff was saying and/or he truly thinks it was a problem this game. The "criticism" or whatever it was, wasn't even particularly harsh, and to me rings true in terms of what we need to do to beat a team like the Twolves if our team isn't lights-out from beyond the arc.

If I'm being honest, he had a pretty awful game, especially shooting-wise. But other players on the team have been equally vocal about stuff that they feel could've been better executed on a game-to-game basis and only Jalen is getting singled out by twitter posts saying he's "calling out Ime Udoka", mostly because I think it'll lead to engagement, whether positive or negative.

Obviously, if it turns out that he's a bad locker room guy or a toxic player I'll turn on him in a heartbeat, but I haven't seen anything that would lead me to believe that.

    Jalen is a bust...
I know it is Hard to accept for a franchise for their previous #2 draft pick...
    But this is reality.
Even scoring 20's, 30's ; this kid gives me no signal of being a good player, cause of inconsistency, lack of basketball iq.
I dont know how long this experience will carry on but l hope not so long.
Cam and Amen already are more mature players than him, this is Jalen’s third year, still same low iq and tunnel vision player..
    It is annoying
