I love the term, but I think it should only be used in order to make fun of his most delusional fans.

His 2nd, 3rd job is when he gets traded....

It is still his first job to do....

If Green was waived today, there will be 29 other teams that would be happy to have him on their bench. That's not a bust.

Go and look at the roster for every team in the league, the come back and see if you can still look me in the eye and tell me the only place he has left would be China.

I wouldn’t mind being poked fun of for being a big Jalen fan, to be honest. If he really does become a star with the Rockets, I get bragging rights and maybe a free drink or two and if he doesn’t, all I can say is I tried my best to will it into existence.

People take a basketball message board too seriously sometimes, at the end of the day, if we’re not enjoy interacting with others here, we should probably take a quick break.

You are really a nice guy and I am glad you are his fan because some of the other fans are really misbehaving.....

Actively using Green to stomp on others' opinions.

I don't think he will be a star at this point, but I do think he can still be a solid 2 guard and starter at some point. I never bought into the stupidity some fans showcased calling him the next MJ or Kobe. At the same time, his level of burst and athleticism is elite and makes him worthwhile to try and develop.

For me, I'd rather just be honest. I thought since about a year before he was drafted that he had a VERY high chance of being a bust and I was outspoken about it.....while hoping I was wrong because I knew if he sucked it meant more years of tanking.

Well, he sucked and we got more years of tanking.

Even this year, I was hoping all of the BS about a "3rd year leap" would be true, it hasn't been.

I just don't get pretending players are good when they are CLEARLY dogshit.

As long as we hold on to him, I'll hope he magically turns into a competent basketball player, but I'm certainly not going to fool myself into believing that it'll actually happen.

I got 2 balls but none of them are crystal so I can't tell what future holds for Jalen, but I'm fairly confident that the Rockets would have more wins right now if Jeremaine Samuels JR was playing Jalen's minutes.

I’m being honest too when I say I think he can and maybe will pan out. I truly believe that his basketball IQ isn’t as bad as some make it out to be, and he seems quite coachable from seeing how he’s been changing his approach to the game in this season vs the previous two.

I feel like if a player with his sort of social media following and hype coming into the league can put his head down, shut up, and try and work on his game, it says a lot about who he is.

He’s had a pretty poor season, but had a good six or seven game stretch. Now he’s had another pretty bad game, and how soon he rebounds from it and in what way he does it will mean something…to me, at least.

Oh I wasn't trying to suggest that you weren't being honest. The people who are dishonest are those who pretend that he already is that guy that you hope one day he'll become.....hell, the guy that BOTH of us hope he'll become so long as he's on the Rockets.

Every single time he has a halfway decent game they come out and proclaim him the next Kobe only better.

I don't know how long it will take for him to pan out. I don't think he can adjust to be 2nd or 3rd option. Some of his shot selection is just awful.

I think he has the right mindset to be a 2nd or 3rd option, as long as he is involved in the offense to some degree. The issue now is that he can’t hit salt in the ocean when it comes to his shooting and it’s making everything harder than necessary. He’s actually finishing better recently, but that doesn’t mean much when teams will figure out to just collapse on him if he’s shooting 0% from three

I mean, he's not entirely wrong. It also validates that he's maybe not ideal in a half court system.

I'm not sure how the guy manages to interpret anything Green is saying.

Listening to it all, I was pretty sure he was talking about how we went to the zoo and saw the fences. And then occasionally he made animal noises.

I suppose we’re defining that word differently then. I think there are quite a few busts who still occupy NBA roster spots.

Darko Milicic was a 10 year NBA vet, guess that means he couldn't have been a "bust" despite being largely considered one of the worst busts in NBA history.

    Kwame got 12 NBA seasons.

It seems most NBA busts linger on in the league for a really long time and that doesn't really mean anything.
