I dunno why there's such a big fascination with Mikal Bridges anyway.

He really doesn't fit this roster while you have Brooks, Cam & Tari eating up all the minutes at his primary position and he's not a good enough creator to plug in as the main guy at the 2 spot.

He's an off ball shooter not an offensive engine.

And that’s fine for this year but I don’t necessarily like it past that.

Honestly Minnesota and Atlanta really fked up the trade market with their overpaying of Gobert and Murray

Actually, the crackheads were nice players.
It was the fallout from them leaving the NBA that put Houston in a hole that took them almost a decade to crawl out of.

Ralph was good until his injury and then was never the same.

I would feel good about that if Amen develops a serviceable 3pt shot.

Hakeem took Houston to the finals vs Boston in 1986 when he was 23 and was clearly our best player.
Not quite your criteria, but close.

The "5 firsts" thing must have been leaked by the Nets to up Bridges market. But it could backfire. Looks like they are pricing themselves out of the market. Teams are scared by that.

The problem with the Nets is that the only valuable asset they have is Bridges and he is good for good teams, not for bad teams. And good teams' picks aren't good for rebuilding. The Rockets trading the Nets picks to them is their best bet to rebuild. If Stone was smart, he could use this leverage to get Bridges without giving up a whole farm.

Anthony Edwards showing you what Jalen will never be, a superstar scoring guard. Bring in Bridges.

Edwards is and will be what 99% of players will never be.

At this point one is lucky to have Jabari, could be much worse even.

Green+Tate+2024 First+2027 Rockets First (which also negates the swap).

I think there’s a school of thought that doesn’t want to give up on Green “too early” because what if he reaches his “upside”. I’m not sure what these people think his upside is, but it will never, ever, ever be a player on Anthony Edwards level, so let’s get that out of your heads. Once we view him with his realistic upside(still needs a lot of work to get to this level), Jordan Poole, Jordan Clarkson, maybe Zach Lavine who the Bulls want to dump, then we can see how a trade for Bridges is almost no risk at all, because Green will never even be better than Bridges so the age difference isn’t relevant.

Jater mentality, just wait till that 7th season leap, you'll need to stay on that side when it happens.

I would give them Jalen, all the swaps, and 2026 draft pick…we keep the 2024 draft pick or protected to top 14….we need to find more talent

The good news is that if the Rockets were at all under the illusion that a three game streak of good games would make them forget about three years garbage, that’s all but shattered now, so they should be back to pursuing a trade involving Green.

The bad news is that illusion has shattered for anyone who was interested in trading for Green as well, so we are probably back to no one wanting him.

There was a 36hr window to swindle some unsuspecting ignorant franchise and that may have just closed.

I would not trade the 2024 pick to Brooklyn that might be a top 5 picks this year….we need more talent

    Random point on player ages:

Players in a team don't all need to be the exact same age in order to be successful, or to play together. (Eg Holiday and Middleton were 30, Lopez 32 when they won. Giannis 25 to start that season. They added 32yr old Tucker).

Acquiring a player doesn't mean you have to roll with them forever. You can move them again for an upgrade, or to rebuild (eg OKC and Paul George)

Players at 30 aren't usually washed. They can certainly be moved once more at that age.

That's fine, but if you're giving up serious long-term assets (lottery picks, young players who were lottery picks and still have potential) you want to get a serious long-term asset in return. It's a different story if the veteran doesn't cost much or you sign him in free agency.
