You'll never know the real motivation until the trade has been finalized.

I know reporters tell all the narratives but you can only trust it if things were really getting close or done....

That is how it is in this business.

This is the same thing when the Kings selected Keegan Murray and were mocked by a lot of fans and people.....he might still be too old but he is what they wanted.

And he is not that bad of a fit with the Kings....

I would do Jalen and 2024 Brooklyn top 4 protected for Bridges.

i mean…the nets already have a shooting guard on their roster from the same draft who is better than Jalen. I’m pretty sure they’d want more than Jalen to move Bridges, who is on a team friendly deal.

I am pretty confident that the Nets wanted to be buyers this season instead of sellers or at least move up in the standings....to me Jalen just have them tread waters....

With his inconsistency they are never going very far, you can see how players do on another team and not be affected by homerism.

Is Vaughn the right coach for Jalen? A lot of those basic questions really.

27, and he has 2 years left on his contract. These next 2 years he is great value, but the rockets are not going to compete these next 2 years even with him. Are you giving him a massive deal when he’s 30?

Jalen's not getting to his ceiling stuck behind Thomas.

Why would he get a massive deal? Because he's an awesome player and that's where the market is?

This higher ceiling is what we've been hearing for 3 years now and all we've seen thus far is massive inconsistency and inefficiency. It's no different this season. At the end of the day the ceiling folks keep bringing up doesn't really matter if you never actually get there.

JG is about to be 22 in a week. And they already have a guy who does the same thing JG does and does it more efficiently

I’m not giving up those pics for Bridges. I don’t see what a lot of people do in Bridges.

Save the pics in case someone better is on the block.

Same reason FVV got $40MM from us with a lower cap. Some team out there with cap space will probably throw big money at Bridges and it could be in the $50-60MM range.

I feel like 2 yrs is enough time to benefit from him playing here and then trade him at the deadline before he’s a free agent and recoup a haul of assets for him. Guys just hitting their prime like Bridges can be traded for good value if and when it makes sense to move on.

There is no way they trade Bridges for just Jalen when they already have a better SG from the same draft. Don't get me wrong I hope they do look at Jalen's last few games and make such a trade but I have a feeling their GM will look at a lot more than that before doing it and I do not want to send them any of their picks back..

I'm not too keen on Bridges, and his cost, but hypothetically speaking...How would y'all feel about putting Eason into a deal for him?

Could be, could be, Bridges has to decide money or contention.

Nope! Jalen and Tate would be as high as I would go and I do not think they will take that..

2 years remaining of Bridges contract is just great value. It definitely isn't stopping the Rockets from paying anyone. And especially when folks like to use the expiring deal for a trade logic. His expiring salary in year 2 to match for a more relevant player provides the possibility of better options outside of looking to get picks for him. But at this point picks aren't exactly necessary for this team that is already crowded enough

Yeah, Bridges is a fringe allstar, likely to only be the third best player on this team behind Sengun and Fred, which is a role better suited for him than #1. You do this trade because Jalen will never be better than Bridges, judging from everything we’ve seen over the last 3 years. You can wait four years and pray that Jalen develops into a player still lesser than Bridges, or you can have Bridges now and play competitive ball for the next four years.

Also to those who say Bridges won’t make us into a contender, that’s right, he’s a very good second scoring option (but third best player), not a franchise guy. For contending, we are counting on a 21 year old Sengun, 20 year old Jabari, 19 year old Whitmore, 21 year old Amen to all improve. And for one or more to reach allstar level like Sengun has, and hopefully for Sengun to reach an even higher height. To act like this team’s ceiling is capped with Bridges is ignoring the fact that our core is a bunch of babies.

No, there's no one giving him supermax.
