I think they are going to make the mistake of giving him the max which is going to come back and bite us in the ass. RJ had couple of phenomenal stretches in year 3 as well i mean it happens. At the end of the day players like Green, Clarkson, Barrett etc. might be inconsistent but they are NBA caliber players and they will have good stretches even if they suck in general and franchises fall for it. They view these good stretches as harbinger of even greater days, they think 30 pt games are just tip of the iceberg. Green is a very very dangerous players who i actually think that should be banned to play bb in NBA because he's bipolar and fools good people like you and me, plays with our emotion. We go on our days and dream of him outplaying Giannis in game 7 but just when you think he's the one the next game he leaves you with a sour taste in mouth. He's that bipolar gf that you love to death when she's not crazy. That's why i say do not marry a person suffers with mental health issues. GAD and OCD are fine but beyond that just forget just like we should leave Green behind us. Any basketball player who shows up when he's in good mood needs to be avoided at all cost.
