I actually thought it might make more sense to trade Jalen, Brooks, and two Brklyn picks for Bridges and Claxton - opens up minutes for Cam, allows us to upgrade some of Brooks' boneheaded plays, and gives us a young center. Meanwhile Brooklyn gets more control of it's future draft capitol and gets a fairly rare young lotto pick with promise.

We got some Lebron only fans? Why y'all trying to trade the heart and soul of the team?

Every trade deadline is pretty much the same for Mr. Stone. We entered the trade deadline as a "buyer", then we waited until the last hour and operated as a "Sweeper", picking up players that other teams did not want or making trades that would not move the needle a bit. I'm always impressed the enthusiasm and patients that our Rockets fanbase shown. Truth to be told, I was spoiled by Morey and maybe I should lower the expectations for Stone.

You are correct on this, but he just lucked out or other GMs were dumb. Well, luck is important as well in any business.

When bad luck hits, it is Stone's fault.
When good luck hits, it is just luck.

Stone does a lot of little things that blow up in face, but cause little lasting harm just for the chance of having something like Whitmore happen.

LeBron's influence is strong on the weak minded.... Brook's is here to stay and continue making The Rockets defense great....

There weren't many options, you either pay FVV and make the jump we have seen or you bring back Harden and piss off Udoka.... FVV + a happy Udoka will always be better than choke star Harden....

Whatever. You have already made an assumption that people are not willing to give credit to Stone, which is not the case. We gave Stone credit for hiring Ime and finding some talents on the drafts. That being said, there's no reason to believe that he'd have known Whitmore would be available at 20 when he made that trade, so there is no question he got some luck; by no mistake, luck is important.

With the emergence of Whitmore someone is getting traded, just need the right disgruntled star that likes IME....

Definitely some luck involved--a lot of people also knew ahead of time Sengun, and Tari to a lesser degree, should have gone earlier. And yet, teams had 15 other opportunities to get "lucky", and only Stone was wise enough to take his shot.

Hey - I like Brooks, not trying to get rid of him at all. Dude is good for this team....but you gotta admit he fouls a little too much, can be careless with the ball, and generally picks fights he doesn't need to be in. They are small things compared to all the good he brings but you can tie those things to very specific losses lately.

You put yourself in position to be lucky, which Stone did when he traded PJ for that swap.

More names need to be on that list, like Tyus Jones and Jonathan Isaac.

I think Kelly Olynk would be a solid get but if Ainge thinks we are giving up a lot for him the answer is definitely no.
