Both of these guys are coming back from surgery. Mitch Robinson in another month or so, and Time Lord, likely not until next year. I wouldn't think we'd have to give up much.

Give me a big who can shoot 3s and share the floor with Sengun.

If not, why not just sign Biyombo to a short term deal?

I seem to remember Knicks fans not loving Robinson but I could he wrong. Im fine with a cheap Williams deal as well as Ivisic or Filipowski with our lotto pick.

    R Holmes (not playing much)
Olynyk (available but have to deal with Ainge)
Jalen Smith (looking to get moved after the Siakam trade)
    Any one of those

I don't know why this board thinks a backup center that will only play 10-15 minutes a night is going to completely change the trajectory of our season.

The only thing wilder than that would be moving Sengun to PF and taking him away from the paint.

Mitch because of a actual big with legit Footer size for second unit

Williams because of his being familiar with Udoka, and being that second unit lob threat

I would just draft that giant from Purdue and call it a day, and draft the best snioer with size, if I can't get a Hield deal done

I’d rather Williams, as long as we don’t call him “Time Lord” which is the worst nickname I’ve ever heard.

Neither.... the ability to stay on the court is important.

To be honest I'd take Jock Landale playing like he's not a bum. Tate is also an acceptable small ball 5. Eason's eventual return is going to help but adding a legit backup who can protect rim is more of a CF catchphrase than a reality.

I’d rather invest in a young center from the draft than use assets on players that are injury prone, particularly Robert Williams.

Robinson is a bit younger and his injury seems less serious--feels like more guys come back 100% from ankles than knees. We'd also get him back this season to help with a play-in push. Not a huge deal in my view, but still nice.

Williams is maybe a bit better of a player, but it's fairly close, and there are questions about whether his production will be the same when he comes back.

Overall, I think I'd say Robinson, but the catch is--is Robinson actually available? I'm sure Williams is for the right price, but I haven't heard any rumors of the Knicks trying to trade Mitchell.

I'm with you on the ankle vs knee deal.

It'll be interesting to see what the Knicks do. Hartenstein becomes an UFA this year. And, Mitch is signed to a sweetheart of a deal at 4yr/60. Before getting injured, he was snapping up offensive boards at a Rodman like pace, and playing mad defense. At the same time we've seen IH's play of late. so....

    Neither.

Jalen Smith would be nice though.

I'd be shocked If Thibs was trying to trade a great defensive big like Robinson, unless they were getting something like Tari back. No thanks...

Timelord is interesting as a long-term 15 mpg guy who knows Udoka.
