Looking at spotrac calculations for expected contracts... Greenard 13.5 Schultz - 11.3 Nelson - 10.2 Rankins - 9.9 N Brown - 5.6 Singletary - 5.4 That's roughly 56 million in cap space. I'm not seeing any WR worth it on the top of the market. 20 million for Evans or Pittman would crush our ability to do much else. Here's what I would want to do... Starting at 65 million Cut Woods (saves 5 million) Let Rankins Walk 70 million Resign: Schultz Greenard Nelson Brown Roughly 40 million Sign Patrick Queen (18) and with remainder keep the kickers. Then draft: WR DT RB CB If Singletary cheap enough, ok to keep. I feel like Nico, Dell, Schultz, and a second round WR should be enough weapons. Offensive line needs health and coaching for better results. They have talent.
I'm not keeping anyone from that list. No one. The only one I would be cool with keeping from that list would be Schultz (Singletary would give Saquon a good backfield commitee mate, unless they draft a guy that fits better and is cheaper) but they might be able to get Colby Parkinsons for half what Schultz is projected to make and he's 10x the blocker Schultz is. There are resonably priced upgrades for everyone on that list, I trust Nick to find them and not blow the majority of his budget re-signing six players
At those prices, Greenard would be the only one worth it. 7$ Milly for a good replacement or just go rookie TE:
Greenard will be at a discount due to injuries and lesser track record. He could be a 15 sack guy over a full season. It's a gamble, but they know the players and I trust them to make the call. Schultz might go for less. If you up the guarantee % he may take less... thinking 3 years 25 million with 20 guaranteed. Not sure there's a robust TE market out there.
I think Schultz numbers would be better if they got him involved in the first couple of games. CJ had to get comfortable and Schultz was in a new system so his usage rate was very low in the first couple of games.
I remember what rookie tight end looks like... CJ Fiedorowicz Jordan Akins Jordan Thomas Kahle Warring Ryan Griffin Garrett Graham James Casey Anthony Hill
Spoiler Teagan can give you everything Schultz can on a much bigger frame, at a better contract, with slightly better blocking
Graham and Casey were nice, would have been nicer with Stroud throwing to them. In the rookie scenario, Jordan leads. Followed by the rook and Quintaro .
They better include a Kristin Juszczyk feature where you can design your own uniforms or else I will storm EA headquarters!
I think my plan A would be Schultz but I agree that Parkinson would be a good fallback option. Less of a receiving threat but much better blocker as you said. I wonder if they could get Parkinson and Dalton Risner (LG option) for the same $$$ as Schultz?
Do yall think DeMeco would be more comfortable getting better on defense at key positions through free agency or drafting and starting rookies? A mix of both is obviously an option.
I've been lowkey Team Fant, but the guy's #s (other than this year) have been trending down. That being said, CJ works miracles!
