Rockets might have a developing Big 3. Cam, Jalen(if he keeps playing like this), & Sengun. Maybe even a big 5 if you include Jabari and Tari. I didn’t even mention Amen, that kid has a lot of potential. If we can get a solid back up big man and maybe another shooter, we could make some noise.
It was always a joke that he fell as far as he did. Teams overthinking things about what a guy can't do instead of what he can.
That has to hurt They took one of the worst players from the draft (that anybody paying close attention knew would probably suck) and passed up three of the best Appreciate them letting us have Cam, though!
This is true… but every draft there are guys 18-20 years old that are drafted and are really good by their second season. Personally I would rather hold on to the picks and draft players to develop or at a minimum trade them when we have a better idea of what we need to really compete. When you look around the league at other young teams, I am not convinced that the Rockets core is good enough. Adding additional young contract controlled talent with this player development group and coaching is a good thing.
Cam Whitmore has a little bit of “the touch”. He is the opposite of guys like Jalen Green. Cam is going to shove it down your throat and not stop until the buzzer to end the game goes off.
I’m with you there - I was only trying to point out you can’t compare rookies of yesteryear to rookies of today because players used to come out much older. The mindset of 23 yr old is very different than that of a 19yr old. …back to your point- I think picks are MORE valuable in the new CBA because the Warriors/Miami super team is not going to be possible in the near future with more severe consequences for teams who try to outspend so teams who can extract good minutes from players on rookie contract deals will make deeper teams…AND those assets will be more valuable to maxed out teams. It’s kind of foolish to let go of those picks now when their value will only increase.
Said it after the recent good game from Jalen and I'm saying it again here. Neither of those games were a knock on Jalen because he actually had two really good games. But in both of those games, I can't help but watch him have a good game and at the same time be watching Whitmore and acknowledging he is just such a better player and the future at the SG. He and Amen in the backcourt. Sheesh that's going to be a thing of beauty in the near future.
….I tend to agree but now I’m paranoid that the injury concerns during the draft may be true because it’s hard to believe as well as Jalen is suddenly playing that we would actually hit on two SGs and two bigs.
