It is quite possible actually. After what the organization did with kpj, it is impossible to know what the situation is with jalen green and sengun. What ime and stone thinks about them. Ime seems to be high on Sengun, but what about ime on Green, Stone on Sengun and Stone on Green?
that's because Sengun struggles when there's a crazy long lob threat he had to defend like Claxton. Nets also threw DFS at him to force him to defend the 3. He was getting jerked both ways and was probably quite frustrated.
The previous time we played the Nets Alpi scored 30 and Jacque Vaugh was very impressed with him and talked very cult like about Alpi in his press conference. So I guess this time he did everything he could do to contain Sengun. But like I said before no amount of scouting is going to stop a confident Sengun. He (and the whole team) need to learn to adapt to such situations. And above all the team needs to put the ball in the oppsing basket. Scoring 40 points on awful percentages in the first half isn't going to win you the game. No matter how much defense you play.
The lob defense is something harder to address than the ft and they definitely need to do something about it.
I meant the basket of the opposing team. In my mind the basket you defend is your own basket. So you should put the ball in the opposing teams basket. Otherwise this will happen: .
JJ Redick : I feel like this is a guy who's going to make 8-9 All-Star games, multiple All-NBA teams .. if the Rockets build this thing right, he'll be in the conversation for at least top 5-6 for MVP - I believe this guy is that good. Stone : Let me introduce Jalen Green to you.
I think Sengun as a score first player is limiting his potential on offense. His ability to be a pass creator is really what makes him special but I haven't seen very many sets this year where his is distributing around the high post with off-the-ball movement. Lately, teams are making a huge effort to deny and help when Sengun has the ball on the low block. Our personnel seems to struggle to knock down open 3s so in essence we are really easy to defend right now.
Note that this is not an efficiency stat, but rather what proportion of touches he converts to points by himself. That points per touch number is a bit too high for Sengun's level of a passer. Jokic/Sabonis' are lower cause in a lot of those touches they just continue to move the ball and set up their teammates. I think Sengun is capable of also averaging 8+ assists like those guys. Just need a better personnel to convert those passes into points.
Yes. More hub actions. More DHos. We should be copying the hell out of Sac and Denver right now. More Princeton, less dribbling morons.
Alperen Sengun has the best defensive rating for the Rockets this season, with a 110.2 rating. https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/nba-drtg-leaders-by-player-on-the-houston-rockets-this-season Did you SEE that work on AD???
