Well KPJ did accept a plea last week and there's discussion about that. The rest is just DD desperately trying to save face.
He did, he pled guilty to 'Reckless assault" , that isn't a hit, that isn't a slap, that isn't a push, or a shove - all those would be much worse charges....he basically pled guilty to arguing in public, or being aggressive - not hitting, choking, slapping, pushing - nope nothing like that... So all those charges that the police drummed up without talking to the alleged victim were dropped, and now after 26 sessions with a private counselor it all gets expunged and he has no record at all. So, I know all you haters want to say, he hit a girl, he didn't, he choked a girl, he didn't....he basically got in an argument with his girlfriend for locking him out of the room - the rest is just your own bias against him because you wanted him gone. That's fine - and I know you won't admit it.....that's fine too......I don't care if you don't like what I am saying, I am dealing in the facts of the case, nothing more, just what people there said happened, and what the charges and plea deal say happened. And yes, I know he has a history of doing stupid stuff - but each item should be taken individually, and I saw a man growing, and maturing, and just got in a fight with his girlfriend....let he who has not sinned cast the first stone...... And I see all kinds of people trying to equate it to bigger charges, but those don't exist....no felony charges at all - this is misdemeanor - basically a traffic ticket level offense. Nothing burger 101. Someone will pick him up, maybe right after the trade deadline - now that this is over. DD

It is essentially the same as an intentional assault except that you are being accused of causing it recklessly, not intentionally.

@DaDakota If it was truly an injustice from the cops, DA or whoever, based on race, why did it take so long for her to come out against the charges? Any race related incident would have immediately been at the forefront of the news. Not weeks later. Especially considering he's a professional sports athlete. Common sense is free.
Yeah exactly. People can joke with each other without getting angry. On occasion individuals are insecure and can’t take a joke. Akin to politicians that are overtly anti-gay are closeted themselves.
