The Iranian people are good people. I know a few of them that live in the U.S. Smart, educated, and modern folks. It's a shame that the country's government went down the path it has. America played a crucial role in interfering with their political development (by overthrowing their last democratically elected leader via a military coup). Shame on the US (and Britain) for their attempt to secure oil for the West. But the past is the past. Whenever there is a chance of normalization, I want it to succeed. I want to see more normalization instead of fighting and hating.
The sad thing is it was 12 but likely much more. There needs to be international scrutiny and accountability. Not a good look for the UN at all.
