You can compare those teams young cores/lotto picks

and also see how the Rockets are now compared to their past 3 overall seasons and of course they are not the same especially when they are full healthy, they can compete with any team, getting the W is a diff story

But seeing more competitive losses this season is better than seeing 20pt halftime deficits like past few seasons

And their young core is growing up quick playing in meaningful games for first time

 

The point is we shouldn't b looking down on any team and downplaying any victories since we were even worst than them not so long ago.
Like we have not achieve anything yet to b looking down on teams

If you remove Van Vleet and Dillon Brooks, they are still just a 28-30 Win team....

They still would blow out teams and be blown out by teams in return.

 

Why will his 3 ball come around? It's been 2.5 years of people saying this.

Lets be honest, if he couldn't gain confidence against the Hornets that would've been a red line through his name throughout the league, confirmed.

I don't know man.

His shot has improved but still has a long way to go, I don't think its mental. I think Bari's is mental, you can tell when he has no confidence his shots are always just off. His shooting form is picture perfect and if he's one of the best shooters in the NBA when he's 26 no one would be surprised. Jalen though has a wacky shooting form.

I mean that hasn't stopped guys like Haliburton or whatever or Kevin Martin or Stojakovic, sure sure, but its a wacky shot with little form or consistency to it.

As for the game, this is what we need from Jalen. He can make up for poor 3 point shooting with FTs and layups around the rim. He really needs to bulk up because we know the refs won't give him this whistle every night.

Jalen needs two things this offseason. More work on his shot and extra time with the weights.

For three seasons, the fanbase has been b*tching and moaning about Sengun's 3-pt shot.
Sengun. Remember? Our center with the incredible post game.
Meanwhile our "SG" with no 3-pt.er gets a free pass as usual.

 

Green legitimately has the lowest bar I have ever seen of a professional basketball player, it's absolutely insane.

 

A couple of good games won't be enough to raise his trading value.

 

Well thought out response IMO. 25 pts. per game is a really high bar as an average...he is averaging 17.8 pts. per game on 40.7 % on 30 mins per game this season. His 3 pt.shooting is 31.4 (agreed here-not good). So, we need a trade that will give us 7 more pts . per game on average and 4.3% higher overall shooting %. I think it would take a pretty damn good trade to do that (Godfather like as I alluded to).

I'm actually not a huge Jalen fan per se as he spurned Auburn for the GLeague. And that means he got ZIP NADA coaching....compounded by 2 years of Silas playground ball. Ditto Bari and Sengun. We are seeing a delayed effect IMO with Bari, Tari and Sengun (big time breakout). I could certainly be dead wrong but I think we are starting to see more of the Jalen we want to see. I believe the scoring average will increase but am not adverse to a trade if we don't give away the farm and get really good value in return. FVV is right there with him at 17.2 ppg and 41.1% ppg. he is shooting much better on 3's at 38.6%. He is also making quite a bit more money as well. I was surprised to see that shooting guards ALL TIME average putting up 11.1 pts per game. This year 10.8 ppg.

I fell asleep mid through 2nd Q and again, JG4 is hoopin. He put a giant smile on my face this morning

 

I have dream, that one day ^this^ would be freaking awesome.

Every player has good and bad games. The fact that Jaleen is turning the corner is good for the Rockets
