Just consider the rest of the starting lineup. Rockets needs an aggressive SG who's FGAs are second only to Sengun. A dynamic player who can combine with Sengun to take over games. Think of Jokic/Murray, Embiid/Maxey, etc. Sengun needs a running mate to tag-team with and play a two-man game with in crunch time. Am I off the deep end here? I'm not a Cam fan but he represents that type of player.
You dont have to have that we are not Denver. You just need guys who make shots when they are open. There are so many open threes with Sengun. 3 and D is our way to go.
He's getting to the basket easy against the worst team in the league good for him. He still cant hit a three in his best games. This is fools gold.
I'm sorry, Rockets needs another alpha scorer to pair with Sengun. I don't think there is any doubt about this, but we can agree to disagree.
I wish people would stop acting like their opinions are facts when they dont back them with stats lol. It would be great to have an alpha scorer yes ofcourse but THIS YEAR the Rockets wont get that. They just need a guy to play defense and be above average on shooting open threes. every stat in those tweets say if jalen simple played defense and hit open threes we would be a playoff team.
12/20 FG 60% 11/12 FT 92% 36 points on 20 shots in 28 minutes unquestionably fantastic shooting the ball I thought you were "a stats guy" 9 boards, 4 assists and 2 steals for good measure I don't want a shooting guard who only shoots I want someone who can take over a game when half the team is out with injuries
I'm not sure how many good teams you can beat if your main SG isn't a good 3 PT shooter. That's my biggest problem with Jalen. He's actually regressed in his 3PT shooting, which wasn't good to begin with, even playing against bad teams. He's 14 of 73 (19%) from behind the arc in his last 11 games. That's a heck of a lot of bricks.
The hornets perimeter d was bad and they had no rim protection. Jalen only shot well because he could get to the rim at will. Sorry but this game isn't really a sign that he's improving, I need to see him make shots from the perimeter.
It was pretty clear that the other starters only attempted 5-7 Field goals to cater to Green this game...... Dude knows birthday and trade deadline coming up.
Yep, those tweets sure do match the eye test. He's not a good player. Rockets should at some point soon get rid of him. The entire team will benefit because of it. It's ludicrous seeing him turn away teammate after teammate just to go one on one. Good game (the couple so far this season) bad game (the other 40 odd) it doesn't matter. Even when he has his best game of the season today, I couldn't help but think yeah Cam would be much better getting his minutes. Cam and Amen fit much better with the team's best player than Green does. It's common sense the team's best player gets more touches and one of the team's worst gets less. Crazy that the Rockets buck that trend and actively go away from their best player to get more touches for their worst - essentially giving up on multiple possessions every game.
