Started watching Sharp Objects because Reddit says it's great and a spiritual sequel to TDS1. So far, I don't love it. Amy Adams is hard to buy as a hard-bitten chain-smoking alcoholic journalist.

I mean, she's a female fighting sport athlete trying to be an actor. If you compare her to the one peer I can think of, Gina Carino, she's practically the love child of Robert DeNiro and Laurence Olivier for her acting prowess.
Yeah the acting has not been awesome by pretty much everyone not named Jodie Foster, and the guy who was in Deadwood. Still enjoying the season though.
