This trial and verdict had nothing to do with the Republican Party as it wasn't the GOP that sexually assaulted Jean Carroll. For that matter Trump wasn't even a Republican when that happened. What that tweet does show though is how much in Trump's mind he is the GOP. The sad part is that most Republicans are willing to go along with that.

This is the second defamation trial loss for Trump. Trump lost 5 million in the first one. He is appealing that one, but IIRC had to escrow the 5 million with the court. For the second loss, trump will be paying 83 million to the court or Ms Carroll very soon.
