Hmm... how far back do y'all have to search to find past statements or positions (noticed a similar effort to find a video of then senator Biden). Is it a bad thing that over time and with different info, people change their position? Should we find trump videos from the past?

Its clear when people dont think for themselves and instead lock-step with the party.

We haven't had a decent presidential candidate since Obama. Your party is trash. The Republican party is trash

And yet... you constantly defend trump and maga. And voted for him the past two elections, and will again this year. At least I am honest about who I support.

Also interesting... you ignored answering my question, and instead decided it more important to attack me. Which is fine, I am sure what I posted embarrassed you.

When have I defended Trump? I have never said and I never voted for Trump and have always said I will never vote for Trump. If you struggle with my statement, perhaps its time for you to visit a therapist to discuss your trust issues.

You post some of the dumbest ****. US military is not going to war against the National Guard. US military is not even allowed to operate in the United States.

Unless you, in some weird twisted form of logic (high probability TBH), think that illegal immigrants are the US military.

Its very interesting how the far left and far right have this civil war fantasy.

What do you think must be changed from the position President Obama expressed in that speech? Anything wrong with it?

You have your newsmax reporter asking about a "force on force" confrontation and the maga governor saying its a powderkeg situation and he will stand with TX to defend themselves against the federal government and other maga states would send their national guard to help TX defend itself. maga house member clay higgins said "the feds are staging a civil war, and Texas should stand their ground". SO tell me about twisted logic and who is escalating this?

Meanwhile, the constitution sides with the federal government and would especially do so if Biden federalized the state national guard, something that happened in 1957 when Eisenhower federalized the Arkansas state guard who had been ordered to prevent black students from attending school.

Texas lost an emergency request on a 5-4 decision, and since then, they have rallied up the politics. Abbott is 'holding the line' (which simply means, ignoring the USSC), and Trump is calling in the National Guard of all willing states (interpreted as being ready for a fight, again, ignoring the USSC).

This is all politicking, but what's sad and dangerous is how easily people are now okay with ignoring the rulings of the USSC.

I remember asking when Trump becomes dangerous and crosses the line. I believe a few conservative posters here said it's when he ignores the court. We're essentially there today, but it's not just Trump; it's Abbott, Republican lawmakers, and multiple Republican governors.

This might all die down after the Court makes a final decision (I think in a few weeks), or it might not. Trump pouring gasoline on the situation is all but expected and normal for him.

It's sad to see no conservative (though I know some are concerned) speaking up against officials ignoring the USSC.

Some posters are liking the Abbott move here, and I think that speaks volumes about how much they value democracy.

I might be mixing you up with another poster, but I remember you mentioning that you would vote for Trump just to go against the left.

It would be easy to confuse people on this site. You'd be amazed how many claim they didn't vote for trump on this site. Also how many claim to be "Independents" and how many claim to be "Libertarians". I know I wouldn't admit to be a republican or worse a trump voter.

In 2016, pollsters were way off, in part because people would say they didn't support trump, but once they got behind the curtains they voted for him. Perhaps just because he was a republican and they always vote for the republican. Perhaps because they actually agreed with him and liked his statements and positions, but were embarrassed to admit it.

Just because a politician falls off into fantasy looloo land doesn't mean you should too. I know you're struggling with this concept, but I do not lock-step with the republican party like you do with the democrat party. Both party's have good and bad ideas and both are ruled by narcassistic leaders.

The constitution doesn't side with anyone.

If Biden wants to federalize the nation guard, go for it. SCOTUS made its ruling. Just don't cry if Trump wins.

I have said I hope Trump wins in spite of the left. If Democrats are going to pretend to be the adults in the room, they need to act like it.

Biden administration is better certainly better than a Trump presidency, but if Biden is the best the Democrats can do, I am staying home.

Democrats can be terrible, but they absolutely are the adults in the room. Trump's first term also had adults in the room. Trump's second term won't have any adults left in the room. Good luck with staying at home (Florida probably doesn't matter anyway).

Usually, hiding is a sign of shame. Shame can be a healthy emotion, telling you when an action is wrong. I would be more concerned with people who outright support Trump (not so much in 2016, but definitely in 2024).
