Judd from Popular Information does a great job stepping through musk's fake news about illegals voting in federal elections. The entire thread is informative but high lighted a few important parts...

That's all well and good, but I think election policy should be dictated by whatever Donald Trump's brain worms tell me.

Despite the hoops it takes for accountability, I'm not convinced to throw the baby out of the bathwater. A simple thought experiment:
Imagine everyone living in apartment buildings. Would you rather live in one with physical locks or choose a block of a thousand apartments that uses digital keys managed by one provider?
The reward/effort for fraud is not the same for either choice.

That's not a fair comparison. Corporations are geared towards profitability and they usually hone their focus on efficiency and customer optimization. What makes the great ones great is more what Nassim Taleb considers a Fragile system, whereas the government, along with its incompetance, traditionally favor anti-Fragile systems to promote redundancies and options geared towards equality among all over gaining a profitable, potentially dominant, marketshare.

In Congressional hearings over the USPS's solvency, Fedex and USPS CEOs admit they can't realistically take over USPS's share/load. They offer custom higher margin services to people/businesses who will pay more for a better standard. I'd assert that USPS is above average at what it does, but they also have the added overhead of public mandates such as keeping postal office coverage available in unprofitable low density areas.

So we should treat voting infrastructure like a public utility company because it is a Constitutional right. A great website/app could cater to 95% of all users (even Internet Explorer users), but the spirit of the law requires folks who use outdated nokia phones and whatnot. I guess you could get creative and make libraries temporary online voting stations, but that isn't the point nor the responsibility of an efficient "UPS/Fedex" company

Too bad this guy didn't buy Breitbart, it would have been a lot cheaper and less embarrassing.

Anyway back on topic still waiting for the organically funny Elon tweet.

Musk is being 100% partisan and a politician here. He's dumbing down the public and his followers by purposely inserting more doubt into our election process, despite all the evidence over the last few years showing that it has been secure enough.

Musk is a technology guy. He knows well what cybersecurity entails. They go to annoying depths on every possible vulnerability you can think of so that it can be mitigated or resolved. This is showing that the DHS is doing its job (and they have similar analyses for pretty much everything election and non-election-related but important enough to analyze). If you don't do these analysis, you are more vulnerable.

I believe they did that because of the deep fake po®n being posted -- I assume fear of lawsuits was at the core of the decision.

    Possibly, assuming no other motives:

1- you ban accounts that post those deep fake or spread them
    2- you remove those posts
3- as a last resort, if you aren't capable as a platform to do #1 and #2, you remove her completely from searches

#3 is pretty drastic and showcase that twitter is technologically de-advanced

But given that "aylor swift" still works.... whatever it is, it's a really poor way of handling this.

My gosh, what is it with trump maga republicans? A judge has to warn jury members to not disclose they were on the trump trial jury, and twitter needs to take drastic efforts to protect a pop singer from harm?

Because blocking taytay searches 9 month before the election is sound strategy...and she hasn't posted anything political.

This is dumbass conspiracy theory nonsense that rivals right wing conspiracy theories. Newroxfan is no different than the people he rages about
