Why would you want to stop seeing the thread!? Every time I see it pop up on the front page of the GARM it is happiness overload all over again. It is such a beautiful constant reminder the piece of sh*t isn't on the team anymore.
Look at Miles Bridges, athletes are privileged, but good thing you can waste one year of his career.....and make him a 12th man instead of a 7th man.
I'm not really understanding the agreement that his lawyers and the prosecutors worked out. If I read into this correctly, I'm assuming the state is saying "look all we care about is that you get help and don't do this again..." However if his guilty plea can just be temporary, and the state can just make it go away after he goes through rehab, and therapy, then will he be treated as a first time offender again in two years if this happens again? I understand why this would be palatable for KPJ, and his reps... technically if in a year he has no criminal charges then MAYBE he gets picked up again by an NBA team... Maybe I'm reading this wrong, and that's not the intent here, but that's at least how I read into the plea deal as well as motivations from both sides. Next thing to watch I guess is if his GF will now file a Civil Suit.
The program of 1 year is like community service (picking up litter) .....he probably has to check in there once in a while..... That would waste a little of his time..... Josh Primo was signed but has seen 5 minutes with the Clippers in 3 months so far......if I am correct.
He played in one game for 5 minutes in a blowout. Scored 2 points and had 3 turnovers. Well, he'll have made about 12M total for his career when this contract is up, if I am not mistaken. That would take us regular working Joes more than 100 years to make that much.
Honestly this is very commonplace for first time domestic abuse offenses. I had a few former peers I served with get charged with domestic abuse for their first time when they were like 22 and just got out of the military. Their punishment was essentially weekend in jail and a year long domestic abuse class. This is nothing out of the ordinary.
Saw that and double checked, it seems he has not, well. Of course, but he was not going to be a regular Joe once he entered the NBA or even the D League where he is still paid decent bucks. https://www.spotrac.com/nba/detroit-pistons/hasheem-thabeet-6295/cash-earnings/ This is what a bust has made for instance....no transgressions or problem with the law just the law of sucking....
