This shouldn’t be surprising as precious polling in Israel and even among Palestinians had been that most would support a two state solutions that allows for Israel’s continued existence and for a functioning Palestinian state. For much of the history of this conflict it’s been extremists that have been driving it. Both sides fear the others extremists and so they justify their actions based on that fear.
