We can only hope they are only leaving Jalen in the lineup until the trade deadline. At some point they will have to start Cam and then this team will be a force. Alpi's assist numbers should go up too with a shooting guard who can actually shoot(not to mention cut to the basket).

Ah, no. His rebounding is ok. In tight quarters it’s rare that he comes down with the rebound. Also while I admire his effort to block out, you can tell it’s a little unnatural to him. Meaning a lot of guys can take a split second to see what’s around him, get his body in position, and then turn to follow the ball’s path. Sengun looks like an NFL guard the way he completely turns toward the guy he is blocking out and often by the time he’s turned back around the ball is already off the rim and he’s not ready to either jump or move in the ball’s trajectory. Hopefully it will improve with time but right now he’s in no shape or form a great rebounder.

what’s crazy is that in majority of minutes with these lineups the second guard is Holiday! So if we’ve be so good with two 6’0" guards. Imagine if we have a decent, more typical SG on the floor!

I thought the same. And the top 2 with most units have Tate.

Seems pretty reasonable to me. Isn't he an official team reporter? It's not like he's just some random fan. I'd have a similar problem if a football writer for the Houston chronicle refused to write about CJ Stroud and only mentioned him when he did something bad. If anyone on this team scores 37 points in an overtime win I would expect it to be mentioned by everyone that is professionally covering the rockets.

But that doesn’t fit with the crazy sof who is obsessed with Sengun and everything about him. It just sounds like normal reaction.

You react to the main content creator in a sports forum about the rockets, oddly and consistently not highlighting best player who has a shot at being an all star. You gotta be crazy.

    I'm sorry, but no.

Here's a fun question for you.

How many times does the guy Sengun is boxing out - grab the offensive rebound?

I'll give you a hint - it's very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very low.

I'm dumbfounded you managed to take something Sengun is fantastic at, and claim it's unnatural and not good.

Then have the audacity to imply it's a negative because the ball's trajectory has changed when Sengun initiates the contact with the attempted offensive rebounder and turns around. Sengun is doing the dirty work so a teammate can get an unimpeded rebound.

Hopefully a guy averaging 9 rebounds a game, and countless other rebounding assists clearing the way for his teammates to get easy rebounds - will improve with time. LMFAO

Does your first and last name begin with the letter 'S' by any chance? It definitely sounds like it.

First of all, I have no idea what you are referring to with the “S S” thing. If it’s related to someone anti-Turk or anti-Sengun, you’re barking up the wrong tree because I’ve defended Sengun from hyperbolic nonsense from the other side of the coin AND I’m Turkish-American. I was a fan of Turkoglu, Okur, Asik, Ilyasova, and Kanter (which I now regret). And I’m a fan of non-Turkish Muslim players like Hakeem and Coulibaly (actually a huge Wizards fan from the DC area but followed the Rockets from the Olajuwon and Asik days). So I have no bias against Sengun. I call things like I see them.

Your argument that he’s a great rebounder because he boxes guys out is pretty ridiculous. Are you claiming guys like Rodman back in the day (or even a Buck Williams) were getting many more rebounds because they weren’t boxing out? Heck even Kanter. There are 16 guys in the NBA with better rebounding numbers than him right now, are you saying Sabonis doesn’t block out?

Not everyone is going to successfully block out an opponent on every possession. Or they block someone out but the ball doesn’t play along and bounces long. There’s an element of looking at the ball’s trajectory and having anticipation (in addition to quickness and hops). And yes I’ve seen his guy go right over him and put the ball back in the bucket, in fact twice in a row in the same sequence. As I said, he’s not effective in tight spaces.

I didn’t say he’s a bad rebounder, but he is not “all-star level”.
