Brooks was cut. Bullock was 0.410 in NY and 0.37 in Dallas (last 3 years, he had better seasons before). He started 156 of 211 games he played in the last 3 seasons. Can't go so bad in a certain time. Should be checked. FVV shot 2/10 today even Alp made huge screens for him.Not good. Dillon enjoyed uncontested shots at the beginning of the season, might be first in his career but not the shooter we were looking for. His numbers down also.
I know much of it was out of necessity, but winning in OT while giving major minutes to players aged 19 to 21 is a big deal. I'm glad it worked out for the young guys, and kudos to Udoka for showing them the trust.
I agree. Nothing triggers me more than when people hate on a dude when he has a great game. Sengun just had one of the best games of his life anybody who hates on the dude now just looks like a Grade A clown. Sengun is a superstar in the making Rox are lucky they got their guy pretty early.
Honestly think it's time we start Cam at SG. Jalen needs some time off to work on his shot cuz he can't hit the broad side of a barn.
Yes, but it's not like Green is a defensive stopper either and we need reliable 3 pt spacers around Sengun.
This game the young guys really showed out and demonstrated how bright the Rox future really is. Remember these are a bunch of 21 yrs olds: 1. Sengun is already a top 10 big man at age 21. That's crazy. The Rox were missing That Guy, the alpha and I think Sengun has proved by now he is HIM. And I think it's poetic cuz the Rox has always been the home of the franchise big man, we got Moses Malone, Hakeem Olajuwon, Yao Ming, Dwight Howard (lol), and now I'm sure Alperen Sengun gonna be in the HOF just like those guys. 2. Jabari Smith is the perfect Robin to Sengun's Batman. Dude is Klay Thompson or Khris Middleton in a 6'10 body. He is really switchable, does the little things and also is a deadly shooter. The only bad thing I can say about is he talks and nags a lot, you can see him jawing at everyone including his teammates during the game. But he is also the first one to run up to teammates and give high 5s and chest bumps on big plays so I'm assuming they're all good. 3. Cam Whitmore is the Green redemption. Yeah tunnel vision is real, when Cam gets the ball he is taking that shot and he the only dude I know who gives the ball up last second and then expects right back so he can take the shot lol it was hilarious one play he gave the ball to Holiday cuz 3 guys got in his way then he immediately raised his hands asking for it back. But tbh that doesn't matter as long as he is a walking bucket go for it bro. Jazz are a really good defensive, veteran team everyone except Sexton is a good defender and they have a lot of length and shot blockers and yet Cam routinely destroyed their defense and broke them down with 3 pt bombs or straight line drives. There's not much fancy contortions either it's just Cam going thru defenders with speed, strength and athleticism. He reminds me of a combination of Ant and Melo, hopefully he curbs his tendencies and be more of Ant than Melo. If Ime had unlocked him day 1 he'd be in ROY rankings right now, but at least he is getting the right training and foundation. 4. Lastly Amen had a quietly excellent game. He had lots of good reads and did so many little things, played excellent defense had deflections, steals, 2nd chance pts and a critical block in OT. He was also trying to subtly guide Whitmore signaling him where to pass and I think that's just a seed of a good future leader and playmaker. Anybody who thinks Rox didn't do a good job rebuilding this team is a Grade A clown.
Aamazing game saving block by Amen. I hope that gives him a lot of confidence that he belongs in the NBA. Watching Cam is like watching my 6 year old son playing basketball, just fearlessly goes full on until he gets his shot off. Then me on the sidelines yelling pass pass find a team mate. I have fun watching both. Cam is doing well, he is a nice shooter, but there are times I would like him to find his team mates. I thought the team did well in the end without Fred, young guns stepped up.
We won, but man did some of our guys ask for us to lose, including Ime with that stunt of putting Aaron Holiday in for defensive purposes. Jazz are so much taller and if it wasn't for Amen, we could've lost simply for that reason alone. Glad our young guys came through though, Cam and Amen are active on defense, move their feet well and stay in front of their man more often than not. Jalen better watch out as Cam is making the lay-ups he isn't. Cam is cutting where Green doesn't. Jalen is fading on shots where Cam just goes straight up. What can we say about Sengun that hasn't been said already? He's such a tremendous talent and love the attitude. Jabari was also awesome, on both sides and love how he didn't back down from Dunn. Sexton is a very annoying player btw and love how frustrated their guys were at how Sengun made them look silly. Jazz might become hatable again. Jeff Green might join that list soon too, he misses a lot of bunnies, expects to be bailed out and accepts being beaten on defense too often to my liking. I still love the guy, but he has to step up. Same goes for FVV, can he just stop fading on those three point shots?! A win is a win. And again, screw the league for the Celtics on a back-to-back. And also that "foul" on Cam was just ridiculous.
I think you took it in the wrong context. I think he is in denial about Sengun's weaknesses. He thinks he's 7ft, he thinks he is a good to great rebounder, and that he plays good defense, when those things are not true. He is a very good player around the rim, offensively. So, if he can do NO WRONG in his eyes, that's HIS BOY! Im not disowning any Rocket's player, sure his style of play is not what I think of when I think of a franchise player but I do not dislike him. I voted over 10 times for him to make the All-Star team. I think we have to be TRUE to our assessment. Ive criticized Jaleen Green ALOT and said I think he should be traded. However he never combats that, only when its Sengun....WHY? BECAUSE THAT'S HIS BOY
Jabari 's confidence in his jumper at home is great. He has to improve as a finisher around the basket. There's no doubt that he's the second best player behind Sengun now. Amen's 3 point mechanics are just awful. He can hit the mid range shot quite well. There's no doubt that we couldn't win without him.
Jabari just needs to gain strenght, He has the mentality but lacks built to back it up. While trying to finish around the rim, he almost avoids contact. I think he will improve once he bulks up. I think, Rockets has a promising core of Sengun, Bari, Tari, Cam and Amen. So excited to see them develop together.
