Yeah. The media is crap. Yes, the endless flood of Xweets are crap. There is exaggeration from both sides in the conflict. But Hamas raped women. The numbers reported may not be accurate but one is far too many and inexcusable. Nobody has to cover up Hamas crimes to ridicule Israel policy. Nobody has to support occupation and oppression by Israel to call out Hamas for their crimes and terrorism.
The IDF has raped women and men and children also in the past. From my personal experience I just see so much more dehumanization rhetoric towards Palestinians than Israelis in the sense that I've just seen too much rhetoric even from moderates that strip away basic Maslow hierarchy of needs from Palestinians where their motivations are only based in religious funadenbtialist extremism. The exaggerated rape claims are part of that dehumanization. The reality is this, a incursion of young men trained in violence into a population of humans will always and I mean always result in rape incidents. Do people here really want me to tell stories of former peers in my company who molested local Afghani girls in Marjah Afghanistan? But we don't dehumanize our good ol boys who serve do we? Hamas were never the good guys in this conflict. They are terrorists and a death cult that prizes the deaths of Israelis and Palestinians. The issue though is equating Hamas with the Palestinian people as a whole and blindly supporting Israel, Netanyahu and particular, in this conflict.
