Do I think Kawhi and Pg are allstars? Um, yes. They are. Now should Kawhi be eligible considering he rarely plays? Maybe not. But Alpi isn’t on their level yet. They’ve been doing it for a decade.

I couldn't care less how long they've been playing well. This isn't a career award. This season, IMO, Sengun has been the better all-around player then Paul and Kawhi. You may disagree, but removing their history, the stats are the stats.

Hitting a wall isn’t abnormal at all. It’s common for sophomores and third years who have taken a big leap to hit a plateau or a wall, it’s not permanent.

Count me as someone that would rather have an All NBA Player.

I swear, this is the only forum in which certain "fans" actively root AGAINST their young players making the All NBA team.

Yeah but this isn't an independent event. Like if he makes an all nba team that means he is playing well enough to make an all nba team. That's objectively good for us.

Eh, voting isn’t great. You still have a lot of nonsense like the smart DPOY and stuff. Whether he’s deserving or not isn’t what I’m talking about

Exactly. How hard is this to understand?

When was the last time a team won the championship without an All NBA player? I honestly have no clue. The sooner you find one, the better. Finding that (hopefully first) All NBA Player makes it far easier to build -- you have a defined structure, you are more appealing to FAs, etc.

Huh? If he makes the All NBA team, he deserves it. The fan voting for the All Star team has nothing to do with it.

What? the marcus smart DPOY wasn't fan voting. The embiid mvp wasn't fan voting. The people who vote get it wrong plenty and in some cases laughable wrong (smart).

I seriously have no idea what you're talking about. You can disagree with individual awards, but no one accidentally makes an All NBA team. I can honestly say I've never saw an All NBA player make it and think, "He doesn't deserve it."

I’m sorry, have you never heard that phrase used to describe young players who have progressed but then suddenly plateau? Can’t help you there. It’s never been used to mean they’re not going to get better. Just describes the current state in their bball development.

My opinion… statistically Sengun has an all star claim. But there are ~10 guys every year who don’t make the all star team with very similar statistical resumes to guys who do make the all star team. There’s just not enough spots. The things that usually tip the scales for the group of guys with similar statistical resumes(whether it should or not) are past success and current team success, which obviously doesn’t favor Sengun against some of the guys in the same statistical vicinity.

Also….I love Sengun, but I find it hard to see how Sengun is more deserving of an all star spot over Kawhi this year. Over Wemby? Absolutely. George? Yes, I actually think there’s a credible argument he’s been the 4th(not 2nd)most impactful guy on the clippers up to this point. Chet? Thats a really, really close one, but I’d lean Sengun.

    Kawhi (1243 minutes)
    24/6/4 @ 62.9 TS%
    WS : 5.1
    WS/48 : .198
    BPM : 5.9
    Ortg : 127
    Drtg : 113

    Sengun (1293 minutes)
    22/9/5 @ 58.9 TS%
    WS : 4.4
    WS/48 : .164
    BPM : 5.1
    Ortg : 117
    Drtg : 110
