I don’t Vote for people who aren’t actually all stars. I love Alpi and see him as a future perennial allstar. But he hasn’t been an allstar this year. Just borderline and sometimes playing like one. But the last several games he’s looked like a 3rd year player who hit a wall. That happens. Not the end of the world. Doesn’t mean he sucks. But the reality is… he is not an allstar yet and voting him into the game would be bypassing legitimate all stars.

 

I really hope Sengun earns the award for getting more fan all star votes than Kawhi this year.

 

I hope Sengun makes the AST. Im doing my part, but I cant help but cringe when I think about the possibility he'll probably get about 6-7 minutes and we'll have to hear the SOFs write a manifesto on how the league is BS, rigged and racist.

 

I'm kind of in a similar boat except that I'm leaning more towards him being a legitimate all star. But in general I do hate when "fan favorite" types get voted in when they really don't deserve it. And Sengun is definitely right on the fringes, it's really close. Averaging 21/9/5 on 59% TS for a center is still really good. I'm still voting for him, but I get where you're coming from. I wouldn't vote for him if I didn't think he deserved it though.

Nonsense. You're too close to the situation. He's averaging basically 22/9/5 with a .6 TS% with a sub-110 defensive rating. Those are All Star level numbers, period.

Besides, do you think Paul George is an All Star? Sengun is scoring a little less than him on similar efficiency while averaging way more rebounds and assists with a better defensive rating. The same logic applies to Kawhi. Sengun also deserves it way more than Chet and Wemby, the friontcourt guys behind him in voting.

Yes. You're too close because you're under the impression he's hit a "wall" since he's scored a few less points the last few games. I doubt you're so closely following his competition and their ups-and-downs.
