LOL... so much wrong in this. Not just the number one "pro" but one of the "cons" is that she is unpopular in her own state! Of course, so is trump, so maybe she is a good fit.

Everyone knows they don't care at all about the deficit. They just want to disassemble the government as much as possible. So much easier to destroy than build, to be negative instead of positive, to oppose rather than advocate.

And of course, much easier to just become a sycophant for a bully than to think for one's self.

Democrats really need to evolve quickly. They have to embrace post-democracy and find their own serious alpha. I still want the Rock.

I can't believe that Republicans don't know history enough to actually support facism = that NEVER works.....this is a turning point in our country.

    This is GOOD vs EVIL

Good = democracy - caring for society - all members

Evil = Racism, selfishness - facism

    Only one can win......

    To the Rock? Okay.

But if you mean no thanks to democrats changing their ways? I don't see any valid argument against embracing post-democracy reality.

It's making me die inside to watch the democrats keep playing by the basic rules and principles when the other party has largely abandoned those rules. It doesn't make sense, and the tacit argument of "oh, the GOP will come to their senses some day, maybe after Trump" makes zero sense. There's been a steady, Fox-News-profits-goosed march to where we are, steady from Gingrich to the horror of Palin to what we see with Trump worship.

Hope is good and necessary. Unrealistic optimism is ****ing deadly and always has been in history.

I'm not really down for any post-democracy. If Democrats want their own demagogue, I wouldn't want them to succeed at anything anyway.

I hear that, and it's not the future I would want either. Let's see how pattycakes from democrats works out with a bunch of thugs, b/c that's definitely what we'll keep seeing. Sigh.

Yea, I was on board for a while with the "play nice" theme that the dems were doing but the gop is clearly not changing back to the "good old days" so they have to do something, I`m not saying they have to lie and cheat like maga does on the daily but they have to be more vocal and find a unifier for the party to get behind, the dems suck at having talent on the bench. maga is a thug and you dont continue to play nice with a thug

Thank you. I mean, people just need to look at the evidence, listen to what these people are saying, and quit expressing dismay.

We don't believe in elections we don't win.
We don't have to follow rules or order.
We can get behind an obvious criminal and forgive all his crimes.
His crimes are not the problem. People pointing out the crimes are the problem.
We follow a guy who SAYS he will be a dictator.
We will do whatever our guy tells us to do.
    **** your feelings.

Yes, that is all disturbing, but indeed, "**** our feelings." What are we going to do about it? Let's not keep sharing how odd it is, keep clutching our pearls, and just hope a big cult suddenly dissolves. SMDH.

House Republicans try to blow up the border deal they claim to want

Speaker Mike Johnson (La.) and other GOP House leaders have said that anything less than H.R. 2 — a draconian messaging bill that could never pass the Democratic-controlled Senate — would be “dead” in their chamber.

Yet during a news conference Wednesday, Johnson suggested the Senate deal might also be too broad. “I don’t think now is the time for comprehensive immigration reform,” he said.

OMG... what scott should have said was that trump was the break the LAW, insult law enforcement, AND incite disORDER and insurrection candidate. How many indictments? How many women did he get proven liable for rape? Senator scott is young enough to have to live with the shame of who is is supporting...

That's a pretty absolutist reading of building and zoning regulations. Code and other officials can make exceptions due to emergencies and as you note freedom of religion could also be applied regarding a Church property.

I'm fine with the Democrats having a very charismatic, articulate and forceful leader who can go toe to toe with Republicans rhetorically. What I am very against though is a Democratic demagogue who would run primarily on grievance and division. Who builds a cult of personality and undermines Constitutional norms even if for policies that I agree with.

The 21st Century has made me really distrust populism of all stripes. Its one of the big reasons why I never felt the Bern and why I even initially distrusted Obama.
