When you break current alliances the allies are less likely and far less enthusiastic about future ones.

Trading partners can go where they wish. Even if they still trade they can change tarrifs, conditions, etc. I don't think the US has sent military in since the Balkans. Our NATO partners have contributed troops, combat missions, security forces and the like for our Afghan adventure.

It is a mutually beneficial alliances that is a win for all of the partners involved. We share common goals and sharing the burden of progressing toward those goals is a good thing.

it was hard for senate republicans apparently.

also, the 14th amendment says nothing about being convicted of insurrection, only that those who have "engaged in insurrection or rebellion" or having "given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof" should be barred from holding public office.

trump is guilty of both of those things. he continues to this day to give aid or comfort to the 1/6 insurrectionists by calling them hostages who are being treated unfairly and also saying he will pardon them...worth pointing out that his comments now are a flip-flop from the position he took on january 6th when he said they should be held accountable.

The majority of Americans are simply not buying what you are selling. He was already acquitted of insurrection by the Senate. Voter fraud happened during the 2020 election -- that is beyond dispute at this point based on the geotraced data of the mules and the video evidence of ballot box stuffing. This isn't even getting into the statistically impossibilities that exist with the actual voting data. Trump's rally on J6 was a voter fraud protest -- it was not an insurrection. The FBI already came out and said it wasn't an insurrection (https://www.reuters.com/world/us/ex...ol-attack-was-coordinated-sources-2021-08-20/) -- as there was no coordinated plan and no plan once people went into the capitol. Do you think insurrecionists would have showed up unarmed if they wanted to overturn the government? Would they have casually walked around the Capitol? Your argument isn't serious, brother.

I think it is possible to call out ATW without being lazy and referring to the German guy as a Nazi.

Also constitutional qualifications aren’t a matter of due process as they aren’t criminal penalties. If Trump was actually able to prove that Obama or Ted Cruz wasn’t a natural born citizen that wouldn’t have been a conviction it just would’ve meant they couldn’t be president. Being able to run for President isn’t a right.

Can we stop the labeling of @AroundTheWorld as a Nazi because he was born in Germany?

There are so many other ways to point out disagreements or attack his politics.

Seriously, we went through the same thing with @fchowd0311 being labeled a jihadist because he was raised a Muslim.

It just isn't funny or fair.

I mean it's mostly ATW who does that to me.

Saying stuff like his grandfather was a Nazi is wrong and a low blow.

But I do believe especially given the type of news media he consumed today that if h existed in 1920s Germany he'd be radicalized by the same ideological strain. I mean which group of people in 1920s Germany were most vocal about the evils of migration? That's hr group are would latch on to.

Trump right now probably has a 50% chance or being the next President of the United States of America.

ATW has said that about you - and when I noticed it, I pointed out that it was out of line and not appropriate and was ignorant.

As far as saying that he is easy influenced by news media is different than saying he is a Nazi because he was born in Germany.

Ya it's quite frightening honestly. How America was not tired of his bs the first time around I have no idea. It tells me that people are so cemented into their bubbles. Scary times.

Doesn't help the GOP has DeSantis and
Of course. His identity as a German doesn't make him a Nazi. Him being easily radicalized by anti+immigration social media rhetoric is what makes me think he'd be sympathetic to right wing rhetoric in 1920s Germany if he existed back then.

^ great read of the mindset of soft Nazi sympathizers by interviewing many of them right after the war.

It wasn't that hard to be radicalized to be sympathetic to the Nazis back then. So it isn't even some absurd claim from me.

The majority of Americans are too busy eating ass or throwing away unpaid medical bills because they don't have any money left after paying rent.

Donald Trump and Joe Biden are way down on the list of importance outside of old white people that watch Fox news and mistake the Jewish man down the street for being Iranian.

ATW is a self-admitted troll. you cant take anything he says seriously.

calling him a nazi is obviously over-the-top, but he does engage in similar rhetoric towards others.

I find trolling to be one of those things where if you show up once a month to make a troll post, it doesn't really say much about you as an individual but if you are producing and spamming content 20 times a day in a insincere manner that is a lot of time dedication to be insincere which to me says something about mental health at that point. Why waste that much time not expressing your sincere beliefs?

I don't think I would go as high as 50% but he does have a good chance.

While polls haven't been good for Biden we are seeing some shift in them and I suspect as we get closer to the election there will be more shift. I also don't think that there will be much crossover vote from those who voted for Biden last time to switch to Trump.

The biggest issue I think will be turnout and the possibility of non R or D challengers. If much of the younger voters abandon Biden or vote for someone else because of anger over Israel, I think that would be the biggest factor in Trump winning.
